Are there any ways to give different light color to different color source block? Most shader packs use a orange-ish light color for torches/lamps. But since sea lantern is introduced in 1.8, such a uniform treatment is far from satisfactory.
I'm sure this has come up, and I'm sorry for the redundancy if it has, but why does the 1.8.0 version not support connected textures? And is this indicative of future updates? Because my server has an awesome RP that uses connected textures, and I have to choose that over the shaders mod at the moment because of this, but the two compliment each other extremely well.

Connected texture code is in OptiFine. It is somewhat more difficult to mod than vanilla. And I have been busy.
It is fixed in next version (2.4.9).
I am sure similar questions have been asked a million times, but I have to ask again:
Shouldnt I be getting a little more frames?
My speccs:
i5 4690 @ 3,7Ghz
8Gb RAM (3Gb reserved for MC)
R9 280X
Samsung EVO 840
1920x1200 TFT
I use MC 1.7.10, MCPatcher for HD-Texture-Support and Misas Texturepack.
I tried various shaders (SEUS, Sildur, Chocapic13), on Medium i get ~20-30 frames, but with horrible Lag every few seconds.
For camparison I tried Chocapic13s Lite-Shader which gets me 40+ frames, but still with a lot of Lag.
I know Java is possibly the worst language to write a game in, I know AMD-drivers have horrible openGL-performance, but still...
best regards
Hadan
Have you tried running with the default resource pack? Misa's resource pack gives me a terrible frame rate as well. Furthermore, try lower the Shadow Resolution and disabling Normal and Specular maps on the Shaders Menu, and lower the Render Distance.

First things first, do NOT use capital letter in each of your words. Only use them at the beginning of a sentence.
It's hard to read your words.
And if you what to use any shader without lag, you need a better GPU. A mobile GPU usually has less than half performance of the desktop one with similar name. GT760M(mobile) is even slower than a desktop GT750. So a desktop PC is strongly recommended to play Minecraft with shaders.
I saw that forge was updated to 1.8 a few days ago so I tried to install this shader mod, I tried a lot of differents shaders but I had every time the same trouble, I have an issue with the light in underground, here are 2 screenshot of that :
<snip>
Outside the shaders work perfectly and my fps are not that bad, I play with a GTX 660m wich is not the best graphic card but I think good enough.
This bug prevent me from playing in survival with thoses amazing shaders, do some of you have the same problem ?
Thanks for reading and please excuse my poor English level
PS: Anyway amazing shader mod and shader packs, good job to all the authors
<snip>
Edit : I installed the last nvidia driver than the 335.23 but I still have the same problem.

First off, mikeztm, who are you talking to? Sinelas? Because his english is just fine ... !
There are a few glitches with 1.8, as it is still in Alpha.
Thank for your reply Jonnybrando, I think Mikeztm was talking to EnderKevin13.
I didn't try to install this shader mod for the 1.7.10, I will try it maybe this would solve my problem, so I will just have to wait for a fixed version for the 1.8.
I will keep you updated, thank for you help.
EDIT:
I don't know if the gpu is the real problem for those who have fps problems with the shaders, personally, I have just a gtx660m and the SEUS ultra shaders work perfectly with everytime more than 40 fps, But I have a great cpu (I7-3).Maybe you can try to decrease the resolution for the shadows, when I do that it increase greatly my fps.
You can check too if you have more trouble when near some water, I think we can find somewhere a way to decrease the resolution of the reflection in water, I noticed that some shaders reduce a lot more than others your fps when near an ocean.
1.7.10 is much more stable, when it comes to shadows / rendering / mod support.
If your display is fine in 1.7.10, but not in 1.8 than it either boils down to the ShadersMod still being Alpha (lighting underground is currently a known issue, but I believe the issue is particular to sunlight shining into caves, and the end being pitch black) or perhaps the shaderpack that you are using.
The GPU is extremely important when it comes to how quickly a shaderpack can be rendered...
You are, however, right if you are using a high-end shader you can decrease the shadow & render resolutions to lessen the strain on your GPU and keep a decent FPS rate.
Shaderpacks are getting a lot better, Chocapic (and the many variants branched off of his work), and Sildur's for example run excellent on a wide range of graphics card (including Intel embedded graphics). SEUS is leading the pack when it comes to features and advancement. Cody got pulled away from MC & SEUS, but has recently started getting back into things, according to his FB page. So, in SEUS unless you have a really beefy graphics card (or you kill the res), it generally runs at a low FPS -- most people would recommend a GTX670 or greater card.
On that note, MC 1.8 renders much faster than previous versions. My FPS has doubled or greater compared to 1.7.10!

You mean Minecraft itself or Shaders 1.8? Both are noticeably worse for me on the same hardware, a 4770K + R9-280X.

Maybe you can answer a question I asked a long time ago on this subject; Can you reduce the shadows to zero? Yes, I'm one of those weirdos who just wants reflective water, nice clouds, sun glare, and normal-mapping (which might not be possible without shadows). It's because 1.8 shaders are just not quite at a point where I can sacrifice that much performance for appearance. (stable v-sync or nothing!)

I once tried kuda shader v5-pre and disable the smooth-shadow inside the pack file. Performance improves a lot. You may try do the same in your favourite shader pack.

It is possible to disable shadow rendering by editing shaderpack.
You have to delete the lines that contain SHADOWRES and SHADOWHPL and the lines that declare shadow* sampler and remove texture2D function calls which uses shadow* sampler and replace them with some constant or change the entire expression to something else.

I mean, with Shaders. I don't even play MC without them anymore, haha, but everyone gets like 300 FPS (unless you have VSYNC or a limiter enabled) anyways :P.
For whatever reason I can run High/Ultra presets in 1.8 that I couldn't in 1.7.10.
This changed, however, when I installed Better Foliage.. Now, I can run Medium at a decent FPS (20-30) or Lite packs without issues.
I've got about double the FPS in 1.8 that I had in 1.7.10 (with about 90 less mods, mind you ;)).
Check your PM, I've got something for you to try ;)!
Did some further testing today:
Disabling all Texture-Packs increases FPS to around 40-45, not enough to justify playing without them.
More or less stable 25FPS is enough for my style of play, so i will leave it at that, maybe play around with some OC.
That is really odd. Your specs are better than mine, yet it seems that my performance is a little ahead. Using SEUS 10.2 preview I get around 40 fps, but I cap it on 30 to avoid stutter. And enabling Motion Blur helps a lot, regarding microstutter while moving the camera around. Using chocapic13 Ultra I can leave vSync enabled and get 60 fps.
Do you have any tool to measure the GPU usage during gameplay? Why am I asking this? Well, you must be sure that your graphics card is being used at 100%, otherwise an OC won't be of any help to you.
If you don't have such tool, I can recommend one.
And did you test the Render Distance thingy? Lowering it from 12 to 8 chunks had a substantial impact on my framerate.

I don't have any issues running MC 1.8, Optifine D1, Shaders 2.4.8 and Liteloader Mods (Voxelmap here).
I'm not running Gammabright, Worldedit, or XrayMod.
You do have a new VoxelMap, however, I'm still running 1.4.8.
I'm using Optifine D1 , ShadersMod-v2.4.9mc1.8 , They all seem to have a problem with overlaying their graphics over top of the shaders , These bugs were present even in the older v2.4.8
Examples :
voxelMap_1.5.0_for_1.8.litemod , the minimap in the corner works fine in square mode and no glitches , but when you choose round mode , the square map underneath can be seen flickering on and off
Gammabright v3.3 [MC 1.8] , doesn't work at all , shaders overrides it
mod_worldeditcui_1.8.0_02_lite_mc1.8 , the selection lines can not be seen , override by shaders
mod_DaFlight_2.1r2_mc1.8 , the fullbright doest work override by shaders
mod_uyjulianXrayMod_mc1.8 , Not working override by shaders
using latest Liteloader 1.8 profile , all these mods are placed in , /mods/1.8/ Dir.
