Alexa+ Early Access

Be among the first to experience the all-new Alexa+. This is just the beginning – with new features being added over time. The more you interact and share your preferences, the more personalised the experience becomes.

What is Early Access?

It’s a chance to start discovering what the all-new Alexa+ can do for you. Features will be released on a rolling basis as Alexa+ continues to get smarter and more capable every day. Alexa+ may not get everything right and we value feedback from everyone who participates. Just say “Alexa, I have feedback.”

Who will get Early Access?

We have started rolling out Alexa+ Early Access to customers in India who own or purchase a compatible Echo or Fire TV Stick device. We will expand Early Access to more customers over time – you will be notified when it's available to you. If you haven't signed up to be notified about Early Access, you can do so here. Once you have access, Alexa+ will start working across all your Alexa+ compatible devices and the Alexa app.

Which devices are compatible?

Alexa+ will work on most Echo and Fire TV Stick devices, with the exception of certain older generation devices (e.g. Echo Dot 1st generation, Echo Show 1st generation, Fire TV Stick Lite), where you can continue to use the original Alexa. How do customers get early access to Alexa+?

To learn more about Alexa+ Early Access, click here. We will start rolling out Alexa+ Early Access to customers in India who own an eligible device. Customers will be notified by e-mail and device notifications once access is granted. We will expand Early Access to more Echo and FTV customer over time. Once you have access and opt in, Alexa+ will start working across all your compatible Echo devices, Fire TV devices and the Alexa app. Your Alexa+ access will also expand to your web browser as it becomes available in Early Access.

What devices are compatible with Alexa+?

• When you get access to Alexa+ it will work on all Echo devices, with the exception of certain older generation Echo devices like Echo Dot (1st Gen), Echo (1st Gen), Echo (2nd Gen), Echo Plus (1st Gen), Echo Show (1st Gen), Echo Show (2nd Gen) and Echo Spot (1st Gen), on which you can continue to use the original Alexa.
• Compatible Fire TV devices include Fire TV stick 4K Select, Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2nd Gen).
• This experience is not currently supported on Alexa Built-in devices , however we look forward to expanding Alexa+ to Alexa on web and to more devices soon.

What languages is Alexa+ available in?

Alexa+ is currently available in English and हिंदी for customers in India. Device language must be set to “English (India)” or “हिंदी (भारत) " or “English(India)/हिंदी (भारत) or हिंदी (भारत)/English(India). To change your language settings, go to the Alexa app or on-device by going to Settings > Device options > Device Language. Alexa+ has been built to recognize regional accents and dialects across India.

What will Alexa+ cost?

Free Early Access to Alexa+ for all customers including non-Prime customers will be available through at least December 15th 2026. After Early Access ends, Alexa+ will stay free for Prime plan members. For Prime Lite, Prime Shopping Edition plan members, and all Non-Prime customers, Alexa+ will not auto-renew and will be available either as a standalone subscription for INR 2,000/month or through Prime plan.

Will the original Alexa still be available?

We're positive you'll love all that Alexa+ has to offer – greater intelligence, more conversation and a striking array of new, proactive capabilities. However, if you prefer using the original Alexa, it will remain available on your devices.

What is the difference between Alexa and Alexa+?

Alexa+ is more intelligent and capable than the original Alexa. She's more conversational, smarter, personalised, and gets things done in the real world. Alexa+ can control your smart home devices and helps you set routine effortlessly. You can also order grocery with Amazon Now, make reservations with EazyDiner, and more, these capabilities will be rolled out across select devices soon. Alexa+ also does many of the things customers love about today's Alexa, but better. Play music with Amazon Music, Spotify, and others, then have broad conversations about your favourite artists. Watch your favourite movies and TV shows, then ask questions about characters, episodes, and soundtracks. The more you interact with Alexa+, the better she gets. She knows you, she's proactive, and she takes action on your behalf. These features are early examples of what's different, and Alexa+ will continue to get better as we add new capabilities over time.

Can I use Alexa+ on my phone?

Yes. Alexa+ is available through the Alexa app on iOS and Android devices, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Alexa+ access will also expand to your web browser as it becomes available.
