Cassian came for blood.
But he took me instead.
Now I’m his possession.
His obsession.
He demands my surrender. He wants my body, my heart and soul.
And the most dangerous part? My heart has already betrayed me.
But the truce between our families is fracturing. We stand on the brink of a mafia war.
Loving my enemy isn’t only forbidden. It could be the deadliest betrayal of all.

Allegra and Cassian 🥰
Reviewed in Canada on October 22, 2025Finally, a new book from Natasha Knight! And was worth the 2 years of waiting 🥹 Story of Cassian Trevino, head of the Trevino family. The Moretti owns him 4 million dollars double for interest so 8 million. They have a week to pay back. As collateral, he takes Micheal Moretti sister, Allegra. What he doesn’t know, Micheal might not be the one in charge. He might be frame from Malek Lombardi, his consigliere who wants his place. Allegra have a past traumatic experience , and will not let Cassian treat her like a victim. Worst, Cassian step family might want his family business too. How will Allegra fit in all this? Will she be a pawn or the Queen?
I missed Natasha Knight writing so bad. As I was reading it, I fully understand why. She write characters like no one. Cassian is so dark, mysterious, unhinged, untrusting, broken. Allegra is traumatized but tired to be the victim so she is fierce, a warrior, strong and powerful enough to make Cassian doubt himself. The way she described the wolrd , the city, the church/home, the Devil’s Peak is so real I thought I was there. Living it for real! The only sad point is that it’s a duet and I have to wait to read the end of their story. This book is my top 3 this year for sure !! Congrats Natasha! Was so worth the wait ! 5 stars is not enough, I gave her 100⭐️

The Villain!
Reviewed in Canada on October 22, 2025Taken for a debt? Oh yes! Lots of family secrets and duplicitous actions and behaviours? Of course! A couple that swings between attraction, despising, and can’t keep their hands off each other? That’s why we’re here! And let us not forget, a cliff hanger that leaves more questions, and answers only one question, and sets our heart racing 😊

kritika3 out of 5 starsNot for me!!!
Reviewed in India on August 16, 2026This was an okay-ish read for me. The story had potential, but I found it quite boring and slow at times. The characters also weren’t written deeply enough for me to really connect with them or feel invested in their story.
Overall, it was a disappointing read, especially considering the premise. I don’t think I’ll be picking up the second book in the series.

Mandy Reads Indie4 out of 5 starsReview based off both books
Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2026This is my review based off both books, The Villain and The Pawn. This is going to be a hard one for me to write. While I did like both books, I definitely wasn’t in love with them. And even when there was times I thought about walking away, something always drug me back in. The first book was more spicier than the second. Understandably. And not as gruesome. The second book was more volatile and yeah, I skipped over a lot of scenes for this reason. And because it had a lot of actiony stuff I honestly didn’t want to read. Plus I couldn’t figure Allegra and Cassian out. They irked me a lot of time and their whole weird dynamic with Jet was just that, weird. But I will say, it was an all in all good read and it kept pulling me back in. 4 Stars.

Nikki M - Hot books & Sassy Girls5 out of 5 starsA deliciously twisted tale of power, obsession, and the thin line between fury and desire!
Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2025Natasha Knight doesn’t just write dark romances, she weaponizes it. The Villain is a deliciously twisted tale of power, obsession, and the thin line between fury and desire. Cassian Trevino storms into the story like a wrathful god in an expensive suit, demanding payment. What he takes instead is Allegra Moretti, the defiant sister of the man who wronged him. She’s supposed to be collateral. Instead, she becomes his undoing.
Allegra, bless her stubborn little soul, is a firecracker in boots, equal parts courage and turmoil. Every scene between her and Cassian is a battle of wills that crackles with tension and heat. One minute, you want to slap him, the next, you want to fan yourself. And somewhere between the threats, the lies, and the unexpected tenderness, you start questioning who the real villain is.
Then enters Jet Blackstone (swoon), dark, dangerous, and clearly carrying enough secrets to fill his own book (please, Ms. Knight, make that happen). His presence adds a sharp edge to Cassian’s already volatile world, and when their feud ignites, the fallout is pure chaos and utterly addictive.
Knight’s writing is as seductive as her character. It’s sharp, layered, and laced with emotional grit. Every page drips with tension, and just when you think you’ve figured out who’s pulling the strings, she throws a grenade and walks away. The result? A cliffhanger that leaves you gasping, glaring at your Kindle, and muttering, “More.”
The Villain isn’t a straight love story; it’s a power play wrapped in sin and secrets. And if the final pages are anything to go by, book two is about to drag us even deeper into the dark.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must go find out who the real demon is… because my heart (and possibly my morals) are not okay. Bring on book two.
