Musee Hand Cream - Lavender & Lime...
I love this Musee Hand Cream. It comes in a nice, pretty, double-layered cardboard box that could easily be wrapped for gift-giving. And the tube of hand cream is pretty too. This is the kind of packaging that you see on the cosmetics counters of expensive department stores. This Lavender & Lime hand cream has a really nice fragrance. I can smell the lavender and the lime, but underneath, pulling it all together, is a really nice vanilla sort of scent. And I always love vanilla scents. It absorbs well, but did leave a bit of an oily sheen for a tiny little while, which is also typical of creams you find in a department store, but I didn't mind because this just smells so nice. So I did the classic swipe of the extra up and down my arms and went on with my evening. I highly recommend this.

Smells heavenly. When I first opened the tube (which is well sealed), I thought the scent was too strong but it mellows out after you rub it into your skin. You only have to use a tiny bit because it spreads very richly and smoothly. In fact, the first time I applied it (right before I went to bed), I think I put too much on because I woke up several hours later with my hands itching as if I were having some kind of allergic reaction to some ingredient in it. However, the next day I tested out that possibility but I moderated the amount I applied and actually didn’t have any problems. (It is paraben and sulfate free but does contain cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol, two skin softeners used in many cosmetics). The tube is generously sized at a little over 6 inches, containing 4 ounces of cream. The product is made in USA, and I’ve learned that the company has a beautiful background story of employing women who often need a second chance at showing what they can accomplish. The employees make all of the Musee products by hand, which is impressive. This is a luxurious cream and packed in a beautiful lavender box and matching tube. It would make a lovely gift. Reasonably priced too.

The positives about this hand lotion is that it makes my dry hands softer. I see that two of the ingredients is glycerin and shea butter, and these both work in conjunction to protect and hydrate skin. You do not need much of this hand cream to protect dry skin; this 4 oz tube will last a long time. It does leave my skin slightly oily right after use, but it soaks in within 5-10 minutes. The only thing that I don't love about the Geranium & Rose hand cream is the scent. I do tend to like floral scents, but this scent needs layered with other fragrance notes. Maybe it has them, but all I can smell is the floral scent with no depth to the scent. Back to the positives, the design on the packaging is really cute. It looks like something my daughter would have designed; she is a professional graphic designer. I also appreciate that this is made in the US and they hire people in "recovery", people with "disabilities" and people who have lived in "chronic poverty".
