My issue was some sort of inconsistency between my first bag and my second.
My first bag the pieces were great, they had a good size and were thick enough for my 6 month pups to chew without being worried they could potentially choke. However this 2nd bag was nowhere near that. As you can tell in the pictures there was a lot of pieces that were so small it could cause a choking hazard. The pieces were also extremely thin compared to the first batch I bought. It sucks because they really love these.

My dog loves bully sticks in general, and she's had many different brands and types without issue. And this dog will eat literally ANYTHING, but she apparently hated these... I thought she was just being picky (very unlike her), because she would refuse them at first. But then she would get bored and chew on them anyway. Then about a week after receiving the shipment, she had a severe allergic reaction from eating them. I didn't know what caused the reaction at first, but she had been chewing on them that day. Then I noticed her nose had suddenly developed a large bump on it, and the rest of her face started to swell up and get all bumpy (which was obviously an allergic hives reaction), and she was very itchy. I was forced to take her to the emergency vet (for a whopping $500). They gave her Benedryl, and the hives went down, and we went home. Since this dog eats literally EVERYTHING (gross things on the street, etc.) and she's very quick, I didn't immediately think of these bully sticks. I figured it was something she found outside that she ingested without me seeing it (common, unfortunately -- she's QUICK and a master scavenger). Later that day, hours after we got home and when she was feeling all better, I gave her another stick. She again rejected it at first, but then started to chew on it... And again, very shortly after she started chewing, I saw the bump on her nose and the hives all around her head and face returned (worse than the first time), and she was again very itchy. That's when I figured out that it was these things. After I gave her a tiny piece of Benedryl (as recommended by the vet), the reaction went down again. I stopped giving her these sticks, and she's been fine ever since... A few weeks later I gave her a bully stick from our local pet supplies shop (a brand she's had before without any issues), and she was completely fine. The shop owner said these are probably from China and therefore likely contaminated.
