The Villain (War of Hearts Book 1)
My life changed the moment I saw Cassian Trevino standing in the shadows of my father’s study.
A ruthless villain in a suit, he’s the head of a rival mafia family.
I should have been safe.
Instead, I was trapped by the man my brother betrayed.
Cassian came for blood.
But he took me instead.
Now I’m his possession.
His obsession.
He demands my surrender. He wants my body, my heart and soul.
And the most dangerous part? My heart has already betrayed me.
But the truce between our families is fracturing. We stand on the brink of a mafia war.
Loving my enemy isn’t only forbidden. It could be the deadliest betrayal of all.
Author's note: This is a dark mafia romance. NO cheating. Check TW on my website.

Brilliant
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 January 2026What a great book. Loved the plot.
Loved Allegra who was as feisty was they come. Cassian takes Allegra as collateral for an eight million debt.
Cassian and Allegra love to hate each other but the chemistry is undeniable.
What follows is great. Who can Cassian trust? Is his step family complicit or is it the creepy Malek?????????

Great Read
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2025The Villain is the first instalment of the War Of Hearts duet.
Cassian and Allegra's story is fast paced. A bumpy road with some turns. Who can be trusted? Mysterious, damaged and some chemistry. You’re left in a cliffhanger wanting more!!!

Good story 5🌟
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 November 2025Loved this story. Slow to start but was on the edge of my chair by the end. Cliff hanger but next book is already out. Sometimes with duets you can feel like the story has been stretched and could have been one book but this needed two books. On to The Pawn !

Absolutely loved this!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2025Cassian isn’t just a villain. He’s the kind of man you survive once—and never forget.
I swear this book wrecked me in the best way. Cassian Trevino is dark, dangerous, and everything that our FMC Allegra shouldn't want—but the moment he stepped into her father's office and into her life she was gone. Completely gone!!
The tension between Cassian and Allegra is electric. Every glance, every word, every touch drips with danger and desire. You could feel the pull, the fear, the surrender… and you'll definitely not want it to stop. I loved how she hated him but her body betrayed her at every step 😆 typical trope in this kind of book but oh how I love it!!! The push and pull between these two was true enemies to lovers!!
The Villain is raw, sinful, and heartbreakingly beautiful. The kind of story that leaves you breathless, craving more, and maybe just a little ruined. I can't wait for book two after that ending!

The Queen of Mafia is back. Superb again.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2025Absolutely loved this first book of this duet from the queen of mafia Natash.
Allegra Moretti was in the wrong place at the wrong time as that mistake cost her to be taken for collateral for a debt owed by her brother Micheal to the head of the opposing mafia Cassian Trevino. Now she is stuck with a man she doesn't know and doesn't like for a week until the debt is paid with interest.
There is secrets & lies around every corner and Allegra has no clue who to trust weather it's her family, what is left or the second in command after her brother, but she does not trust Cassian that has her against her will. There is a lot of push & pull between the two main characters and the chemistry between them is growing as they can't keep there hands off each other. That cliff hanger at the end was brutal and can't wait to know what happens in the concluding book.

Fantastic Read
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 November 2025Fantastic Read!
The Villain by Natasha Knight was such a great read! It took me a few chapters to really get into it, but once it grabbed me, I was completely invested — and now I need book two. I always love Natasha Knight’s writing; she never just tells a story on the surface. There’s always something deeper going on — layers of emotion, motive, and tension working below. Another powerful and addictive read from her!

kritika3 out of 5 starsNot for me!!!
Reviewed in India on 16 August 2026This was an okay-ish read for me. The story had potential, but I found it quite boring and slow at times. The characters also weren’t written deeply enough for me to really connect with them or feel invested in their story.
Overall, it was a disappointing read, especially considering the premise. I don’t think I’ll be picking up the second book in the series.

Mandy Reads Indie4 out of 5 starsReview based off both books
Reviewed in the United States on 20 May 2026This is my review based off both books, The Villain and The Pawn. This is going to be a hard one for me to write. While I did like both books, I definitely wasn’t in love with them. And even when there was times I thought about walking away, something always drug me back in. The first book was more spicier than the second. Understandably. And not as gruesome. The second book was more volatile and yeah, I skipped over a lot of scenes for this reason. And because it had a lot of actiony stuff I honestly didn’t want to read. Plus I couldn’t figure Allegra and Cassian out. They irked me a lot of time and their whole weird dynamic with Jet was just that, weird. But I will say, it was an all in all good read and it kept pulling me back in. 4 Stars.

Nikki M - Hot books & Sassy Girls5 out of 5 starsA deliciously twisted tale of power, obsession, and the thin line between fury and desire!
Reviewed in the United States on 29 October 2025Natasha Knight doesn’t just write dark romances, she weaponizes it. The Villain is a deliciously twisted tale of power, obsession, and the thin line between fury and desire. Cassian Trevino storms into the story like a wrathful god in an expensive suit, demanding payment. What he takes instead is Allegra Moretti, the defiant sister of the man who wronged him. She’s supposed to be collateral. Instead, she becomes his undoing.
Allegra, bless her stubborn little soul, is a firecracker in boots, equal parts courage and turmoil. Every scene between her and Cassian is a battle of wills that crackles with tension and heat. One minute, you want to slap him, the next, you want to fan yourself. And somewhere between the threats, the lies, and the unexpected tenderness, you start questioning who the real villain is.
Then enters Jet Blackstone (swoon), dark, dangerous, and clearly carrying enough secrets to fill his own book (please, Ms. Knight, make that happen). His presence adds a sharp edge to Cassian’s already volatile world, and when their feud ignites, the fallout is pure chaos and utterly addictive.
Knight’s writing is as seductive as her character. It’s sharp, layered, and laced with emotional grit. Every page drips with tension, and just when you think you’ve figured out who’s pulling the strings, she throws a grenade and walks away. The result? A cliffhanger that leaves you gasping, glaring at your Kindle, and muttering, “More.”
The Villain isn’t a straight love story; it’s a power play wrapped in sin and secrets. And if the final pages are anything to go by, book two is about to drag us even deeper into the dark.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must go find out who the real demon is… because my heart (and possibly my morals) are not okay. Bring on book two.
