Testimonials

The work April does is very high quality. She’s very thoughtful in her approach. On many occasions I’ve observed her discover an issue, decide to fix it, dig deep to the foundations of the problem and address it at the root with a comprehensive solution that leaves the application healthier overall. Kudos.

April is also very clear in her communication. Her pull requests always include a good description, clear testing instructions, and visuals as needed. It’s really easy to work with her.

April is not afraid to tackle complex problems, taking the necessary time to do it well, and communicating back the decision and trade-offs for the solution she found.

— Staff Software Engineer @ Tumblr

She really pays attention to detail, incorporating information happening all over Tumblr, and making sense of things in a way that is really amazing to me. Once she’s got it, she validates this and makes sure to propose the best path forward to bring the very best to users. I am so glad not only Tumblr has April, but also I feel lucky to be able to work with her so closely.

April’s a great communicator, collaborator, and project owner, and is growing technically extremely quickly. As I said, she literally laid the groundwork and was the example we followed in Labs on how to collaborate effectively between design and engineering, and I hope more people can get on her level in 2024.
