Updates

  • IPEd is delighted to announce the launch of the third edition of the IPEd standards for editing practice (the Standards). The Standards sets out the core standards that professional editors in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand should meet and is a valuable and useful resource for editors and those working in associated industries and roles. The review of the Standards has been a thorough, consultative process that has taken close to three years to complete. This edition has a strong focus on editing for accessibility, diversity, equity and inclusion, and Māori and First Nations peoples, with reviews conducted by external specialists. Other changes to the Standards reflect the current and emerging trends in the editing and publishing industry. • Do you want to edit more efficiently in Microsoft Word while reducing repetitive strain? Macros transform tedious and time-consuming editing tasks into one-click solutions, freeing you to focus on the work that requires your professional judgment. These macro tools help you: ✅ make copyedits (such as converting numbers to numerals and correcting capitalisation errors) ✅find consistency errors (including proper nouns and hyphenation issues) ✅conduct internet searches (for example, looking up terms in the Macquarie Dictionary and Google) ✅add terms to your style sheet in the background, keeping your focus on the flow of text ✅handle many other routine editing tasks. This workshops is designed for editors with little to no macro experience, this beginner-friendly approach requires only basic computer skills—if you can copy and paste, you can use macros. There are only a handful of spots left, so book now! 🎟️ https://lnkd.in/gc4FQudT Note: A MAC macros workshop will run in November.
