Ilias Chantzos, Chief Privacy Officer at Broadcom, facilitated dialogue between Andreea Gulacsi (CEN and CENELEC), Ronald Bezuur (Uniserver), Ingo Kraupa (noris network AG), and Larik-Jan Verschuren-Parchomov (Fundaments - Expert in Private Clouds) on how national certification schemes like SecNumCloud and BSI C5 will converge under the co-decision process of the Cloud and Data Act (CADA). - Up next was 'Sovereign Cloud Procurement — From Policy Language to Tender Reality.' Miljana Todorovic (Cullen International) hosted a strategic exchange with Diego Solier (European Parliament) and Miroslav Ognyanov (European Commission) to analyse what counts as unacceptable jurisdictional exposure in public tenders. - A spotlight interview featuring Manuel Mateo Goyet (European Commission) and Ultan Mulligan (ETSI), moderated by Elisar Bashir (Cullen International), exploring how public buyers test sovereign claims. Currently underway, Eric Chambriard (OVHcloud) is delivering his keynote address, The Tender Reality Check – When Policy Meets Practice, followed by an exchange of views with Philippe Merle (European Commission) and Mario Campolargo (Kreab Worldwide) to balance sovereignty objectives with open market competition. I am here with our EMEA legal powerhouse Laure Lavorel. Yesterday and today I am presenting to customers and facilitating round tables on #sovereignty and #regulation. What customers tell us? -> Sovereignty definition is needed to avoid “sovereignty washing” -> Legal requirements help drive discipline but there is a fine balance between compliance and over-regulation. For the avoidance of doubt, we have crossed that balance -> For regulated industries there is a clear move to private or sovereign cloud because of the regulatory and geopolitical pressure -> When considering sovereignty, operational and jurisdictional control are more important than pure-play (and unlikely to achieve) technological sovereignty -> Key priorities are managing risk and dependencies using technology where possible - Managing resilience and lock-in risks -> Sovereign AI and frontier AI models and their implications are top of mind -> European cloud ecosystem needs scale and technological stability and standardisation to grow more competitive and feature rich offerings

With colleagues soon heading off for some well-deserved rest and relaxation, this was a great opportunity to come together and reflect on a successful first 6 months of 2026! Ilias Chantzos liked thisIlias Chantzos liked thisI've explained over a hundred times by now, that, with IntelliProve, we can check a persons biomarkers with just a scan of the face. And "Wait... What? HOW?!" is still the reaction I get every time. I mean, it's a fair and honest question. It’s still insane what we've built. Every heartbeat causes tiny colour changes in your face. They're completely invisible to us, but as you can see in the video: a smartphone, tablet or laptop can capture those. Our algorithms analyse those subtle changes during a 30-second face scan and translate them into biomarkers like heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate and even blood pressure. No wearable. No extra hardware. Just a scan of your face. Embedded into digital environments. The first time I heard of it, I had the exact same questions. Questioning what kind of sci-fi movie this was. Turns out it's real. It's years of hard work, research, >1.1M data points, computer vision and scientific validation. Still pretty cool though.
