Lululemon shoppers say this $84 crossbody is the 'perfect everyday bag' — here's my honest review
It's the "perfect everyday bag" and it comes in five colours.
While I love a cute, compact bag, sometimes a mini bag just doesn't cut it for my day-to-day life. After all, I'm a mom of two young boys, so I'm often carrying around all my daily essentials, plus toys, Kleenex and of course, stain-removing pens.
I was recently looking for a larger crossbody bag, and came across the Lululemon All Night Festival Bag 5L. Thanks to a generous Mother's Day gift from my husband, I had a Lululemon gift card burning a hole in my pocket, so I decided to go for it.
I chose the black and gold combo — because again, as a middle-aged mom of two boys, light-coloured bags just aren’t worth the hassle. This bag is definitely larger than some of my more compact Lululemon bags, making it perfect for a mom on the go like me.

The details
This 5L version of the All Night Festival bag measures 20cm x 10cm x 21cm with a strap length of 150cm when fully extended.
The wide zippered opening of the bag makes it easier to locate your essentials, and there are also interior and exterior pockets to store your valuables. There is even a small zippered pocket on the front flap for storing quick-access items like keys, lip gloss or even your phone.
The gold metal hardware enhances the look, making it an excellent choice for both day and night.
Available in five different colourways, this nylon bag is water-repellent and features an interior lining made from 100 per cent recycled polyester. The multipurpose pouch is easy to clean and only requires spot cleaning for surface stains.
What I like about it
Love how it looks: Sometimes functional bags prioritize practicality over style. However, this one stands out with its wide zippered opening that folds over when closed and its elegant gold hardware, which gives it a very polished appearance.

The adjustable strap is great: I can adjust it to wear a larger bag crossbody without it bothering my post-mastectomy chest. I've often found that large bags are difficult for me to wear because they tend to fall uncomfortably, but this one lies perfectly, which makes me so happy.
Fits my overstuffed wallet and other essentials: I have this small wallet that is just beyond stuffed — and this bag fits it perfectly. I can also throw in some lipstick, a compact and a pack of crayons for the kids, and the bag still rests comfortably across my chest.
Black nylon bags are a mom's all-stars: With two young boys, I need purses and pouches that are easy to keep clean. My sons have dropped ice cream and Gatorade on the bag, but with a quick spot clean with warm water, it looked as good as new.

Room for improvement
Don't overpack it: This is more of a caveat than a complaint — but don't overpack the bag. First, it will be very uncomfortable to carry, and it will look quite sloppy. I was a bit too ambitious recently, packing it with too many essentials and kids' snacks, and it ended up looking like a messy mom bag.

With more than 1,500 five-star reviews, reviewers can't get enough of this "perfect everyday bag." One person calls it the "best bag ever," raving about the abundance of "sensible compartments."
"Cute and spacious," declares another owner, who appreciates all the pockets, particularly the main pouch, which holds "a lot of items."
This bag is "just the right size," says another reviewer, calling it "big enough" to hold all their essentials but "compact enough" to not be too oversized.
Another shopper, who bought the bag specifically for a 10 day trip to Europe, called the bag "great for travelling." They say it carried a ton, their valuables were very secure and it "weathered well" in the rain.
Howeveraid that while they called it a "great everyday bag," they did mention that when they adjusted the strap to carry off-the-shoulder, the plastic "digs into your shoulder."
Some shoppers did say that the foldover flap is "not practical for an everyday bag," while others noted that the lighter colours get dirty easily. Something to keep in mind if you plan on using it as much as I do — I haven't noticed any issues with my black bag.
The verdict
As a mom of two busy boys, I need a bag that looks cute while holding plenty. This bag does exactly that and more. It's very comfortable to wear cross-body, and as long as I don't overfill it, it looks great. That said, some shoppers have noted the lighter colourways get dirty quickly — and some have also complained about the foldover style and how it looks when it's too full.
