The LuMon™ System is the first and only FDA-Cleared EIT solution for premature infants. As NICU teams know, ventilation management of neonates – especially VLBW patients - is uniquely challenging due to small airways, compliant chest walls, and minimal lung volumes. The ability to safely visualize lung function at the bedside, continuously and in real time, has enormous potential for guiding neonatal care according to Dr. Tingay, Clinical Neonatologist and Respiratory Physiotherapist at Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. “EIT provides immediate imaging of regional lung function at the bedside. That visualization helps us better understand each patient’s respiratory condition and determine the strategies we need to employ for their specific needs,” says Dr. Tingay. The LuMon™ System has also been cleared by the FDA for use in adults, CE-marked under EU MDR, and registered with TGA in Australia. “IPV is a promising treatment for patients with severe to very severe COPD.” In a new 2025 study published in BMC Pulmonary Medicine, patients with stable COPD received IPV® Therapy three times a week for four weeks. The results? - Improved exercise capacity - Better patient-reported outcomes - “Likely driven by reduced hyperinflation, small airway recruitment, and enhanced mucus clearance” As the authors note: “One month of treatment with IPV in patients with severe to very severe COPD led to a decrease in the mucus plug volume and mucus plug count.” Read the full study: https://hubs.ly/Q03KM5QW0
