Founded in 2012, TeKshift GmbH is a leading Automotive Engineering Company based in Germany and Belgium. We are specialized in developing embedded and control software for electric and other powertrain systems. TeKshift relies on skilled engineers with a broad experience, mainly in automotive and motorsport engineering and only utilizes state-of-the-art development tools. Those skills were acquired by working during more than a decade for various companies ranging from world renowned automotive OEMs to niche companies with speciality or high-performance vehicles.     The shift to Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) is happening faster than most expect — and it transforms how we build Vehicle Motion Control (VMC) more than any technology in the last 20 years. Here are the 4 phases of the transition every chassis & controls engineer should know: 1️⃣ Domain-Based Control (Today) Brakes, steering, powertrain and ADAS run on separate ECUs. VMC is fragmented → limited coordination, strong supplier ownership. 2️⃣ Cross-Domain Coordination (Near Term) A centralized VMC layer supervises brake/steer/drive. → Better stability, smoother driving, unified motion decisions. → Requires open interfaces and transparent actuator capabilities. 3️⃣ Central Compute + Zonal Architecture (Scaling) Multiple domains collapse into 1–2 high-performance vehicle computers. VMC becomes a standalone software layer with clear split: • vehicle-level logic • module-level constraint handling • smart-actuator tracking This is where OEMs begin owning vehicle behaviour. 4️⃣ Full SDV with Smart Actuators (Future Platforms) By-wire braking, steering, active suspension, multi-motor torque control. VMC acts as the vehicle’s dynamic brain — predictive, coordinated, data-driven and OTA-updateable. Why it matters?     J1939 DBC 2025-09 revision now available! 🚒 🚚 🚛 https://lnkd.in/gnzmcNHT The latest J1939 Digital Annex released yesterday - and our new DBC is now ready! The 2025-09 revision adds several new PGNs vs. previous versions, including various OBFCM (On-Board Fuel Consumption Monitoring) related messages. The J1939 DBC file contains decoding rules for converting raw CAN bus data to physical values across heavy-duty vehicles like trucks, buses, tractors, excavators and more. It now contains 2,000+ PGNs (messages) and 14,000+ SPNs (signals), letting you decode all standardized data across most heavy-duty vehicles. The DBC can be used in almost any CAN software/API tools - including of course the tools for our CANedge series. The bundle includes a legal J1939 DBC & license, based on the J1939 Digital Annex Excel file (also included). This in provided collaboration with SAE International. #j1939 #canbus #telematics
