Aviation industry in BDLI welcomes free trade agreement with India. "India is an important and fast-growing market for the German aerospace and defense industry – it's the third-largest aviation market in the world. So, we're really happy about the EU Commission's proactive approach. Our industries see India as a growing sales market with high potential for development and manufacturing. For our companies, especially the supplier industry, which is heavily dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises, open, rules-based trade is a prerequisite for participating in global value chains. 🚀 CARIOQA partners meet in Toulouse to conduct a functional analysis of the ground system In mid-February, around 30 experts from Centre National d'Études Spatiales German Aerospace Center (DLR), Thales Alenia Space, GMV, Leibniz Universität Hannover, Technical University of Munich, and Laboratoire Temps Espace (LTE), gathered at Centre National d'Études Spatiales in Toulouse for a dedicated #Workshop on the Functional Analysis of the Ground Segment, marking an important step in the preparation of the CARIOQA Quantum Pathfinder mission. 🎯 Workshop objective The main goal was to advance the functional analysis of the ground segment, covering both the control ground segment and the #mission ground segment. This work focuses on identifying #user needs and operational constraints to determine how the mission will be managed from the ground. 🔧 Why it matters This analysis is essential for: • Programming the CARIOQA #instrument • Supervising measurement sessions • Retrieving and processing #scientific data • Continuously improving future #observation planning 🤝 Key discussions & outcomes Participants worked collaboratively to clarify operational requirements and the interactions between the ground and space segments. One key takeaway was that the #scientific mission scenario is a central input for the functional analysis, while ground-to-space communication links remain critical for mission operations. 🌍 Strong collaboration Beyond the technical progress, the workshop highlighted the strong ambition of the CARIOQA Quantum Pathfinder partners and the excellent collaborative spirit among all participating organizations. 👇 Find out more on the link provided in the 1st comment below. For greater safety: closer space-air traffic integration 🛰️ 🤝 The European Space Agency - ESA has awarded a contract to OKAPI:Orbits, in collaboration with the Institute of Space Systems from #TUBraunschweig and the DLR-Institut für Flugführung from the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V., to lead a project that will bridge the gap between space traffic coordination (STC) and air traffic management (ATM). The project responds to the growing interaction between space activities, such as launches and re-entries, and civil aviation. As launch rates increase and orbital congestion grows, air traffic authorities must be able to anticipate and manage space operations in a timely, reliable, and standardized manner.
