On her way to the next chapter. As NKT Eleonora continues her journey towards VARD Brattvaag in Norway for final outfitting, she is also moving one step closer to completion. Final outfitting marks an important phase in the construction of our new cable-laying vessel, where key systems and equipment will be installed and integrated ahead of operations in 2027. Behind every successful offshore cable installation is months of engineering, planning and collaboration. For Stamena Zekic, Junior Geotechnical Engineer at NKT, the work begins long before a cable is installed. By analysing seabed conditions, developing ground models and supporting burial assessments, she helps ensure offshore cable projects are delivered safely and efficiently. "Every project is different. New conditions, new challenges and new opportunities to learn are what make the role so rewarding," says Stamena. Having also worked onboard NKT Victoria, Stamena has experienced first-hand how engineering expertise translates into offshore execution, strengthening collaboration between engineering teams and operations. It is colleagues like Stamena who help deliver the reliable connections that enable the energy transition.

As digitalisation accelerates, so does the need for reliable power infrastructure. From AI and cloud computing to streaming and digital services, data centres are becoming an increasingly important part of modern society. But their performance depends on something fundamental: a reliable connection to the power grid. NKT recently supported akea group, a Swedish infrastructure specialist, with new power connections for three data centre developments in Greater Copenhagen, Denmark. Together, we delivered power cables, accessories, installation, commissioning and project management to help ensure a reliable and future-ready electricity supply. Because behind every reliable data centre is a reliable power connection.

"Success to me is being just as happy going to work as you are coming home," that is how Kirsten Bonnici defines success. Since joining NKT as a Trainee Jointer, Kirsten has embraced the opportunity to learn a new trade, develop new technical skills and become part of our Grid Solutions team in the UK. After a career maintaining heavy machinery on the mines in Western Australia, she moved to the UK looking for a new challenge. Today, she is building the skills needed to help deliver the reliable power infrastructure that supports homes, businesses and communities. Driven by a passion for learning and understanding how things work, Kirsten is already looking forward to developing her expertise at our training centre in Karlskrona and continuing her journey as a cable jointer. We are delighted to welcome Kirsten to NKT and look forward to supporting her as she grows her career with us.

We never get tired of this time-lapse showing the impressive process of raising a 200-meter tower in only 90 days. While we continue the internal installation and interior work on NKT Crown, we enjoy the view of the tower at our high-voltage factory in Karlskrona, Sweden.  The tower is part of the ongoing expansion of the factory, which will make it the largest factory for subsea #powercables. #offshore

Having moved from an HSE Specialist role in Cologne, she now works across NKT to strengthen and harmonise our global HSE processes while ensuring they remain practical and relevant for our sites. By connecting local experience with global expertise, colleagues like Johanna help us continuously improve how we work and strengthen our commitment to a safer workplace.

Another important milestone for NKT Eleonora! Our new cable-laying vessel has now departed VARD Shipyards Romania in Tulcea and is on her way to VARD Brattvaag, Norway, for the next phase of construction. We are proud to see NKT Eleonora moving one step closer to delivery and would like to thank all teams involved for their dedication and expertise.

Nya byggnader, specialdesignad utrustning och ett 200 meter högt torn, uppfört på bara 90 dagar i Karlskrona. Det är intensiva tider när vi bygger vidare på det som kommer att bli världens största fabrik för högspänd sjökabel. Men i slutändan handlar allt om människor och samarbete. Genom alla faser av utbyggnaden av vår högspänningsfabrik i Karlskrona har vi prioriterat att arbeta med lokala entreprenörer och leverantörer så långt det är möjligt. På så sätt säkerställer vi att vår tillväxt också gynnar det lokala samhället, genom nya arbetstillfällen och affärsmöjligheter. Ett stort tack till alla entreprenörer, konsulter och medarbetare som är med och bygger ut vår anläggning i Karlskrona. Den här utvecklingen hade inte varit möjlig utan er.
