The brand name Volvo was once synonymous with station wagons, even long after that particular body style fell out of favour with Canadians rushing towards SUVs. The V60 Cross Country is undoubtedly a wagon thanks to its overall profile, albeit the CC suffix means it has all-wheel drive and 2.5 inches (63.5 millimetres) of extra ground clearance compared to a standard V60.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Competitors
The chief rival of this car is the Audi Allroad, a similarly sized jacked-up wagon from a premium brand. However, one should also count the various and sundry crossovers which inhabit similar space, such as those from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi’s own showroom.
What’s new with the Volvo V60 Cross Country for 2026?
Rumours of the V60 CC’s demise abound, especially since the brand is focusing its attention on an electrified future, one filled with crossovers and SUVs. As such, few changes are expected in 2026 though shoppers will find modern goodies such as Google built-in services, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and a head-up display on various trims.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Performance
A turbocharged four-cylinder engine lives under the hood, working in tandem with electrified hybrid components to make a combined output of 247 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft of torque. All wheel drive puts boots to the ground, as does an eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration isn’t blinding, hitting highway speed in 6.9 seconds.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Efficiency
This powertrain configuration, called ‘B5’ in Volvo-speak, is rated by NRCan for 10.1 L/100km in the city and 7.6 on the highway. A mixture of those environments should yield approximately 8.9 L/100km efficiency. A refinement of NRCan numbers mean these figures are about a tenth worse than previous estimates.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Safety
We’ll reiterate whats been said in other Volvo write-ups: the brand is all but a historical byword for safety. Small overlap crashes on both sides of the car, side impacts, and roof strength tests all earned top marks. The lone blemish are hard to reach LATCH child seat anchors, according to the IIHS.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Reliability
While the crew at Consumer Reports hasn’t road tested the V60 Cross Country, they do have enough data and feedback from real world owners to award it a 3-of-5 score for predicted reliability. A main trouble spot centres on the in-car electronics, likely an indictment of its user experience and not any actual failures.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Interior
Stoic is a good word to use when describing the interior of any modern Volvo, a space which shows up for duty with clean lines and a large screen taking the place of most buttons. A crystal-like gear selector adds something to the space in some trims, and there are multiple upholstery colourways from which to select in some trims including a tasty Maroon Brown in the Ultimate. Select the interesting Blond City Weave Textile if popping for the base trim.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Dimensions
This wagon stretches a total of 4,787 mm (188.5 inches) in length. That’s about eight inches longer than a RAV4, to use a common yardstick. Still, its overall height of just 1,499 mm (59.2 inches) gives this car definite wagon vibes even though that black over-the-wheel cladding makes it look taller than it actually is.
2026 Volvo V60 Cross Country Canadian Pricing
Canadian shoppers get a choice of three trims this year, starting with the Core at $58,392 including most fees. This is a jump of about three grand over the last couple of years. The Plus trim tacks on $5,300 to that sum, while the Ultimate trim now breezes past $70,000 to sit atop the V60 Cross Country pile.
