While it was totally new in 2024, the Ineos Grenadier takes the owner back in time to an era where off-road ability took precedence over a night at the opera. It is thoroughly modern with some of the latest technologies, but old school at the same time — it uses recirculating ball steering, which tends to make it feel vague on-road, but it’s ideal in an off-road environment! Likewise, while many will view the Grenadier as a serious off-road-ready, body-on-frame SUV, it is, in Ineos parlance, a station wagon.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Competitors

The Ineos Grenadier’s rivals are an eclectic bunch ranging from the off-road-oriented like the Ford Bronco Stroppe Edition, Jeep Wrangler, Land Rover Defender, Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Toyota Land Cruiser to soft-road outliers like the Genesis GV80 and Lexus GX.

What’s new with the Ineos Grenadier for 2026?

Heading into 2026, the Ineos Grenadier does not see any significant change. However, the Detour offers a bespoke version of the Grenadier and will be produced by Ineos Automotive’s new Arcane Works division. It will be limited to just 200 vehicles. Moving forward the Fusilier will offer two new powertrain options — one all-electric and one range-extended electric.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Performance

The Grenadier’s engine is sourced from BMW. The 3.0L inline turbo-six uses a twin-scroll turbo to produce 281 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. It works with a slick-shifting eight-speed ZF transmission. While the 8.8 second run to 100 km/h will not make you heart beat faster, few rivals can match the Grenadier’s off-road chops. Along with a centre transfer case with a low-ratio of 2.5:1 come three available locking differentials — the front and rear differentials can be locked individually based on need. With all three locked, the Grenadier becomes an automotive mountain goat! It also has the wherewithal to tow 3,500-kg!

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Efficiency

NRCan do not list the Grenadier’s fuel consumption, however, the company has it rated at 16.0 L/100 km in the city, 15.4 L/100 km on the highway and it has an average consumption of 15.7 L/100 km. That would put the annual fuel cost around $5,550.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Safety

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have yet to rate the Ineos Grenadier.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Reliability

Consumer Reports has not yet determined the predicted reliability of the Ineos Grenadier — it is barely two-years-old.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Interior

The cabin is a mix of old-school and modern. There’s no traditional instrumentation screen, rather a single 12.3-inch touchscreen at the top of the centre stack looks after it all. It shows vehicle speed, selected gear and fuel gauge along with an almost bewildering array of information. Depending on the screen selected it shows everything from tire pressure, maps and the multimedia functions including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to an all-encompassing off-road view side that includes an inclinometer! Old school is found in the mechanical nature of many of the controls.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Dimensions

The Grenadier is 4,855-mm long, 2,146-mm wide and it rides on a 2,922-mm wheelbase. Inside, it has 1,001-mm of rear seat headroom and 774-mm of leg space, so it will accommodate a pair six-footers. The cargo volume measures 1,150L seats up and 2,035L when folded flat.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Canadian Pricing

The Ineos Grenadier starts at $96,695 and moves through Trailmaster and Fieldmaster Editions at $105,995. Delivery is $2,000.

When you want more off-road ability and a dirty space out back, the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster is the choice. While this double-cab pickup gets a 305-mm stretch in the wheelbase when compared to the Grenadier, all else is essentially the same as the station wagon model — an open short-box replaces the covered cargo compartment. It, too, takes the driver back to an era when off-road ability was more important than on-road performance. In this regard it has more off-road ability than most of its peers.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Competitors

The Ineos Quartermaster’s only real competitor is the Jeep Gladiator. However, other rivals include the Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma

What’s new with the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster for 2026?

Heading into 2026, the Quartermaster does not see any significant change. However, the launch of Ineos’ Arcane Works division will offer a limited-edition Detour derivative of the Quartermaster. It gets, among other things, different paint and interior materials along with a more purposeful exhaust note.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Performance

The Quartermaster’s engine is sourced from BMW. The 3.0L inline turbo-six uses a single twin-scroll turbo to produce 282 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. On paper the numbers look a little shy given the Quartermaster’s 2,665-kg curb weight. However, it feels crisp under hard acceleration and it maintains the urgency through the mid-range. The credit goes to the eight-speed ZF transmission and the fact peak torque is available between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm. The performance will never make your heart beat faster, but the 8.8 second run to 100 km/h is 1.5 seconds faster than the V6-powered Jeep Gladiator. Quartermaster can also tow up to 3,500-kg with trailer brakes.

    2026 Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Efficiency

NRCan do not list the Grenadier Quartermaster’s fuel consumption, however, the company has it listed at 16.9 L/100 km in the city, 17.0 L/100 km on the highway and it has an average consumption of 16.9 L/100 km. That would put the annual fuel cost around $5,900.

These controls have a yesteryear mechanical feel.
