The ClickHouse JSON type was already fast, but v25.8 made it 58x faster and use 3,300x less memory for complex JSON structures. We heard two common challenges when working with JSON documents: 1. Individual documents have many thousands of paths 2. Document structure is variable, resulting in 10,000+ unique paths across documents ClickHouse v25.8 introduces two new serialization formats for JSON data that solve the "thousands of paths" problem. Bucketed shared data: JSON paths are grouped and stored into deterministic buckets. When querying a specific path, ClickHouse knows which bucket to read and skips all the others. Advanced shared data: Builds on bucketed, adding granular indexing. Advanced metadata allows skipping within buckets to improve read performance even further. The results? 📊 200k rows of JSON with 10,000 paths 📊 ⚡ Query time: 3.63s → 0.063s 💾 Memory usage: 12.53 GiB → 3.89 MiB Read more about how it works → https://lnkd.in/es-NKWhi

You can’t call yourself a DevOps engineer until you have spent hours tracking down YAML drifts. We have all been there, jumping between Dev, Staging, and Prod with 50+ YAML files, copy-pasting the same manifests, and hoping nothing breaks. One small change turns into hours of outage on production. That is exactly why we all love Kustomize. By keeping a single base configuration and layering environment-specific overlays, teams can eliminate duplication, reduce drift, and deploy without a headache. Here is how it works in practice: 1. Start with a Base Manifest: this becomes our golden source of truth, holding all the stable configurations that are common across environments. It is the foundation that we can trust. 2. Create Overlays for each environment: Dev, Staging, and Prod only carry the differences. You’re no longer duplicating YAML; you are just patching what changes. 3. Use Transformers: simple built-in transformers like namePrefix, images, and replicas let you adjust resource names, image tags, or scaling rules without touching your base files. 4. Apply directly with kubectl: no new tool to install, and Kustomize takes care of the rest. 5. Patch it: for advanced use cases, write strategic patches in YAML or JSON. Fine-grained control without rewriting manifests. 6. Automate everything in CI/CD: By using Kustomize, you can automate everything in CI/CD.
