Receiving this honor reinforces our belief that when strategy, design, and technology align, the result is more than just a digital tool—it’s a game-changer for the professional community. 

Being part of the official Polish delegation at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 was an incredible experience. It was a high-octane deep dive into where the world is headed.

Here's how each layer works.

This behavior shaped how e-commerce sites were built for the last two decades. It prioritized keyword SEO, polished product pages, and design patterns that encouraged picking up a few extra items along the way. In other words, the brands that dominated Google search, invested in slick on-site UX, and showcased products with strong visual merchandising were usually the winners. But that’s starting to change.

For over a decade, Poland's IT industry was our country’s crown jewel. It became the fastest-growing export sector, employing hundreds of thousands of specialists and powering digital transformation from Berlin to Silicon Valley. By 2023, Polish IT exports reached 70.7 billion PLN[1] - more than double the 33.1 billion PLN from 2019[1]. To put that in perspective: Poland now exports more IT services than Japan or South Korea, remarkable for a country finding its place in the global economy just 30 years ago.

For years, design has been defined by craft: UX, UI, research, usability, accessibility and many others. All of this is essential, but the industry is changing.

Many designers dream of creating impact. But real impact rarely comes from a single screen or a minor feature. Impact happens at scale. It means working on products that touch hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of people. And that usually means large organizations, governments, or even entire nations — with all the complexity that comes with them.

AI is entering fast. It will produce flawless screens, assist with research, and even generate concepts. Designers who rely only on craft will soon compete with machines. And machines will be faster, cheaper, and good enough for most contexts.

So, where does that leave the future of our profession?

At Flying Bisons, the answer is strategic design.

In our manifesto, Strategic Design - Manifest, we argued that design craft is only 10% of success. The other 90% – the Invisible 90% – is about how you move your vision through the complexity of enterprise and government organizations.

But before you can build a gameplan for that journey, you need a frame. That frame is the Project Pyramid.

The Pyramid is not a replacement for the design process (discovery → strategy → design → development). It sits next to it, ensuring that decisions are locked in the right order so that complexity doesn’t overwhelm the project.

Every digital leader has seen the diagram: discovery → strategy → design → development.
On paper, it looks neat and linear. Almost easy.

But saying that digital transformation works as simply as discovery → strategy → design → development is like saying building a skyscraper is just drawing blueprints and then pouring concrete.

In reality, skyscrapers take years of permits, regulations, structural reviews, supply chain management, and engineering compromises. One missing approval or one overlooked regulation, and the entire project is delayed or derailed.

Enterprise and government redesigns are no different. Great design is the blueprint – essential, but only 10% of the journey. The real success depends on the invisible 90%: organizational politics, stakeholder misalignment, technology roadblocks, and endless approvals, and hundreds of micro-decisions that decide whether the structure stands tall or collapses mid-construction.

This is the part of redesign that most leaders underestimate – and where projects succeed or fail.

E-government platforms have evolved from static websites into fully integrated, user-centric ecosystems. Once requiring in-person visits, tasks like obtaining an ID or driver’s license can now be done digitally, thanks to cloud technology, automation, and digital identities.

However, expectations are rising. Citizens now demand the same seamless experiences they get from private-sector platforms. Governments must enhance accessibility, security, and efficiency while tackling cyber threats and ensuring crisis resilience. Here’s what’s next.
