Kyber is real-time infrastructure to Remote Control and Observe any Machine - Time for real time
À propos
Kyber is building the real-time infrastructure that makes any machine feel local. Our technology enables instant, secure and reliable remote control and observation of remote desktops, robots, drones, autonomous vehicles, 3D/XR universes and AI agents with the lowest latency possible, transforming remote interaction into a seamless real-time experience. It adapts to any networks and networking conditions. Built by Jean-Baptiste Kempf and members of the team behind VLC, with decades of expertise in video infrastructure, networking and open source, Kyber has developed a radically simpler alternative to legacy technologies such as WebRTC and a new generation of high-performance remote desktop infrastructure challenging traditional solutions like Citrix. Kyber combines an open-source core with an enterprise licensing model, allowing developers to innovate freely while giving enterprises the performance, security, support and advanced capabilities required for production deployments. Today, Kyber is already trusted by global enterprises and fast-growing startups across robotics, remote desktop, healthcare, 3D/XR streaming and AI. The company is generating commercial traction while continuing to expand internationally. Following its $5M Seed round announced in June 2026, Kyber is accelerating product development, growing its team and building the infrastructure powering the next generation of intelligent machines. We're hiring. If you're passionate about deep tech, open source, networking, AI or robotics, we'd love to hear from you. At Kyber, we’ve got our own #Mbappé in house! He just happens to score in milliseconds instead of minutes 😁⚽️ Yesterday, our founder Jean-Baptiste Kempf, hailed by Cédric Ingrand, CEO of Heavyweight Studios, as "France's software national treasure," joined François Sorel on Tech & Co (BFM Business) with: - Frédéric Simottel, journalist at BFM Business - Christophe Aulnette, senior advisor at Seven2 The conversation took a closer look at AI and robotics, touching on Mistral AI's move into robotics, Gradium's $100M raise with Nvidia on board, Samsung overtaking Nvidia as the world's most profitable company, ChatGPT adding ads, Amazon Leo's satellite internet service in France, and Starlink's 100,000 satellite ambitions. Who’s the cutest attendee at RAISE Summit & MACHINA Summit this week? We might have a winner… 😉 This week, Jean-Baptiste Kempf played with Reachy Mini, powered with Kyber inside! In this short video, Reachy tracks Jean-Bapstiste’s movements, interacts with him in real time and even asks him a few questions 👀 (And yes… it’s proudly wearing a LEGO #VLC traffic cone hat on its head and a Kyber sticker on its chest.) It’s a fun demo, but it also illustrates something bigger: how real-time infrastructure enables more natural interactions between humans, AI and robots. A huge thank you to Matthieu Lapeyre and the entire Pollen Robotics team (now part of Hugging Face) for creating such an amazing robot. The Kyber team loves playing and working with Reachy Mini! 💙 If you’re attending RAISE Summit or MACHINA Summit over the next few days, come and say hello. We’d be happy to chat about Kyber, Physical AI, robotics, ultra-low latency or simply geek out together. Can’t make it? Feel free to send us a DM. #Kyber #PhysicalAI #Robotics #RealTime #AI #LowLatency #RaiseSummit #Machina #OpenSource #DeepTech

A few months ago, Jean-Baptiste Kempf sat down with Matthieu Stefani on Génération Do It Yourself. A conversation that revisits the unconventional journey of the man best known as the main developer of VLC. Since then, Jean-Baptiste Kempf founded Kyber. The idea: enable a human to control a machine thousands of kilometers away, with virtually no latency. In practice, the technology allows users to remotely operate a drone, a humanoid robot, or even a surgical arm, with near-zero latency. In this conversation, you will hear about: 💎 More about Kyber 👉🏻 The fundamentals everyone should understand before talking about AI ⚠️ Why he turned down tens of millions of euros for VLC (VideoLAN), and what it reveals about his approach to business, And so much more, A rich, insight-packed episode, available here: https://lnkd.in/e_kEyXrk

Jean-Baptiste Kempf was on BFM Business this week 📺 On Monday, Jean-Baptiste Kempf joined François Sorel on "Tech & Co" alongside Thomas Serval (Baracoda Group), Jean Schmitt (Jolt Capital) and Hugo Borensztein (Omi) to debrief on VivaTech's 10th edition with Jeff Bezos' appearance, the standout innovations they saw, and what the future holds for Europe's biggest tech event. For Kyber, being at #VivaTech this year was obvious! Robotics, drones, XR, AI agents, real-time infrastructure, these are exactly the conversations happening on the floor. We came to show what we're building, meet the people shaping the industry, and prove that deep tech made in France is very much alive. Big thanks to Léa Benaim for the organisation! That’s a wrap 🎬 4 days at VivaTech and what a ride! We ran back-to-back demos, had Jean-Baptiste Kempf on stage, on BFM Business and BSMART 4Change, took part in discussions with Inria, spoke with TechCrunch, and Kyber's team spent the week in conversations with the people building what’s next: partners, customers, founders, engineers and innovators. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, ask questions and test our demos. And a special shoutout to Scaleway for welcoming us on their booth throughout the event. The energy at this 10th edition was powerfull and so international. Between our recent $5M seed announcement, incredible meetings and four intense days of demos, VivaTech 2026 will definitely be one to remember. We’ll be back. See you next year 💎 #Kyber #VivaTech #PhysicalAI #AI #Robotics #XR #DeepTech #OpenSource

Last week, our founder Jean-Baptiste Kempf was interviewed by TechCrunch🎙️ In the article, discover his vision for Kyber, and why the solutions that exist today won't hold up at the scale of millions of connected machines. As Jean-Baptiste Kempf says: "If you control things in the real world, every millisecond matters." That's exactly why Kyber exists. Our SDK synchronizes video, audio, sensor data and control inputs with ultra-low latency, enabling humans and AI agents to act instantly on what's happening in the physical world. The article also looks back at Jean-Baptiste's journey from VLC (VideoLAN) and FFmpeg to Kyber, and why real-time infrastructure will be a critical building block for the next generation of robots, drones, XR devices and autonomous systems. A great way to cap off a very busy month: 🚀 A $5M seed round led by Lightspeed, with participation from OVNI Capital and Kima Ventures 💎 Kyber Booth at VivaTech 📋 And now a feature in one of the world's most influential tech publications. Thank you to Anna Heim for this great article. More to come, we're just getting started 🦾 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d5FknBUq #TimeForRealTime #Kyber #PhysicalAI #AI #Robotics #Drones #XR #OpenSource #DeepTech #TechCrunch
