Love this thanks for all your work. Will there be more on the nvidia limitation? Really need it above that resolution! |

Hi, thanks for the awesome installation script! I've been testing it out, but I've encountered a few bugs: Refresh Rate: I am unable to switch my monitor's refresh rate from 60Hz to 170Hz. Dual Monitor / Gamescope: I use two monitors. I selected my preferred monitor for Gamescope during the installation, but the configuration isn't applying. This causes the Steam session to fail at launch. As a workaround, it works fine if I only connect a single monitor. Virtual Keyboard in CS2: I play with a mouse and keyboard, but the virtual keyboard constantly appears during interactions in CS2. Any advice or workarounds for these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! FYI. I'm on Framework Desktop with AMD AI MAX 385, with Gigabyte m27q and LG Dual up monitors. |

So this has taken a while to put together, and thanks to the support on my channel — it’s funded development enough to pay for the gaming laptop I had to buy to test this. Amazing people
I’ll be putting this up on Git later in the week and removing my old WOPR repo, which was the prototype for this.

Ok what is it
This script is an interactive “Gaming Mode” installer and configurator for Omarchyt. It sets your system up to run a Steam Deck–style Gamescope session (using ChimeraOS gamescope-session packages) and makes it easy to switch between your normal Hyprland desktop and a full-screen Steam/Gamescope gaming session.
its bound to SUPER SHIFT S ...launch and SUPER SHIFT R shut down
on install it does the follwing
Checks your hardware and setup (Arch tools, Hyprland config, GPU type, connected displays) and refuses to run on Intel-only graphics......( as thats a world of hurt with gamescope and Mesa..maybe one day )
Installs the gaming stack: Steam + required 32-bit/64-bit libraries (multilib), Vulkan/Mesa or NVIDIA bits, plus common extras like Mangohud/Gamemode, and AUR packages if needed.
Fixes config for NVIDIA, especially nvidia-drm.modeset=1, and drops the right environment variables for Gamescope on NVIDIA.
Applies performance tuning so gaming doesn’t keep prompting for sudo: udev rules/sudoers, optional Gamescope capability, sysctl tweaks, audio latency tweaks, and shader-cache sizing.
Creates the Gamescope session config (resolution/refresh/output connector, HDR/VRR options where relevant) and the helper wrappers to start/stop things cleanly.
Adds quality-of-life helpers like NetworkManager handling during the session and auto-mounting drives that contain Steam libraries.
Ok and why built it ......I use omarchy as my daily driver moving over from mac for editing and post work so i thought it would be great to finally have just one machine for work and play ......which with this i now have
