How to remap underlying function of "edit" (pen) button?

I have mapped the pen / edit button with a photo editing program when I started using Aves. But now I would like to change to another photo editor. How can I remap the pen icon to a new app?

Default apps for specific actions (here, editing) are handled at the OS level, not by Aves.

In the Android settings, go to "Apps", find the editing app which is currently the default, then go to its "Open by default", then press "Clear default preferences".
