Hi! If you're having problems with input (e.g. keyboard layouts not being respected, XKB remaps not being respected, keystrokes not being registered, etc.) on Linux since Ghostty 1.2, please check if the problem you're seeing fits the description of these preexisting discussions.
If your problem has already been described, please only react with an upvote or an emoji so that you can tell us you're affected by an issue without sending a notification (and/or an email) to everyone in the thread — it would make our lives as maintainers much easier. If you are very certain that your issue has not been reported before, please post a new discussion and we'll sort it accordingly.
As to when these discussions will be addressed, that highly depends on whether there are people who are willing to step up. Personally, I, Mitchell, and many more maintainers are currently highly burnt out on input-related issues especially revolving around specialized keyboard layouts and remaps, which are very difficult for us to test without in some extreme cases purchasing a keyboard with the corresponding physical layout. At this time we cannot guarantee when we will start processing these discussions or when they'll be fixed, but hopefully we can get them in by 1.2.1 or 1.3 at the latest.
What you could do to make our lives (and by extension, your life) easier is to provide us with detailed reproduction steps as to precisely which layout (and custom XKB options if applicable) you are using, exactly which keys to press on the keyboard, and what results and inspector key events that should show up in the terminal. We'll prioritize discussions that are well specified and do not require much effort to reproduce. Thanks!
