How to edit eixting spec.md files using /specify command?

When I need to edit existing spec.md on the active feature branch created by spec kit using /specify in a new cursor chat, it creates a new branch and starts the spec from the scratch. How to make sure that Spec Kit updates spec.md on the active branch instead of creating a new one?

I had same issue. Switching to specify agent and prompt like

"update #spec.md with this change ... "

Avoid manually editing spec.md file. Always use chat as it will keep it in the context.
