Strange paste formatting issue

Hi,

I met a strange issue when pasting into some Debian 12 SSH clients, where the string become surrounded by 200 and 201 also indentation is lost.

Fir example:

if [ -n "$BBSERVER" ]; then
    unset BBSERVER
fi

become

[200~if [ -n "$BBSERVER" ]; then
    unset BBSERVER
    fi[201~]]

I tried multiple host-client combinations and issue doesn't always occur, anyone has idea what I've missed ?

It seems like LXC and Proxmox are software used to run machines or containers, but I'm not sure what you meant by "Debian 12 SSH clients" since it sounds like you connected to SSH servers using the Windows version of OpenSSH client on Windows Terminal.

The clipboard option is only useful when Micro receives Ctrl+V, but Windows Terminal handles the key by default (you can check > raw in Micro) and doesn't support pasting using OSC 52 (terminal).

Bracketed paste has control sequences that include 200 and 201, so it can be seen that bracketed paste is used. It can be used regardless if Micro receives Ctrl+V, but bracketed paste isn't enabled in the Windows version of Micro so it doesn't seem like you ran Micro on Windows.

I was still not able to reproduce the bug in these scenarios:

1. Windows Terminal (OpenSSH client on Windows) → Termux (OpenSSH server, Linux environment on Android) → Micro:
   Text is pasted without issues
2. Windows Terminal (OpenSSH client on Windows) → Termux (OpenSSH server & client) → Windows (OpenSSH server) → Micro:
   Text is pasted as regular key input since bracketed paste is not enabled

You are right, sorry I didn't make it clear, just corrected the thread.

Thanks for your hint of raw I was able to see the difference, a successful paste result a EventPaste but a distorted paste result a sequence of EventKey

Also I found that in my Debian 12 LXC pasting fails not always but randomly, even network latency related ?

Is it something to do with split escape sequence received ? Like microsoft/terminal#4037
In this case maybe maybe a tcell issue ?

I had this in nano on iterm connected through ssh to a deb server

Interesting, I've no issue paste into bash or nano. Nano support bracketed paste long ago.

I didn't think about network latency but it seems related. I cannot test early but Micro currently uses an old fork of Tcell with slightly different parsing code and interfaces, so this shouldn't at least be reported upstream.
