Question about JavaScript Client SDK

Hello Microsoft Agent Framework team,

Has there ever been any plan to provide an official JavaScript client SDK? A JavaScript SDK would greatly simplify integration of agents into modern web applications, making it easier to consume APIs, handle agent/worflows events, and work seamlessly with frameworks like React, Angular or other.

Such a client could reduce development complexity, improve maintainability, and accelerate adoption of agent-based solutions.

It is surprising me how difficult connecting the dots is to these people!

Ask any engineer at Microsoft to compare the pros and cons of supporting a JS/TS SDK versus Python for this framework. Every single one will tell you the same thing: if the goal is for people to build real products with it, JS/TS should be the top priority.

• JS/TS for building products is the same language, same stack, zero friction, get it to prod.
• Python is great for training models and research work, but it’s not what you use to ship products.

So who exactly is this framework supposed to be for? Because if it’s meant for developers building agents and products, then ignoring JS/TS makes no sense at all. On the other hand Agents are not AI, it is software engineering that uses AI.

If this sounds condescending, it’s meant to be. This isn’t complicated. Decision makers, Listen to your engineers!

If you're on JS/TS, why would you choose this over Vercel AI SDK? Seems to me that Microsoft is focusing on a specific target audience and that audience does not intersect with Vercel AI SDK.

Enterprises want to reduce the friction of adopting their services. -- I read through the vercel AI Agents section, it is pretty simplistic, but a good starting point to build on top, that said there is always space for frameworks that have different set of properties,

@cchen-motion When we talk about an enterprise framework, we expect a complete solution covering our entire stack, fully server and clients. In this scenario, implementing enterprise solutions on the backend is fairly straightforward. However, when it comes to the frontend, integration tends to take longer, slowing down product delivery.

I want to open this topic specifically to discuss a JavaScript client, not a JavaScript server SDK. This is where we start looking at assistant-ui with ai-sdk and the A2A protocol we’ve implemented. The key advantage, when aiming for an end-to-end enterprise product integration, is the ease of integration on both sides — backend and frontend — making delivery much faster and more seamless.
