Hi GitHub Team,
I would like to suggest a feature that would greatly improve the user experience for managing starred and pinned repositories.
Problem:
Currently, the starred repositories list can become cluttered, making it difficult to quickly find the repositories that matter the most. Similarly, while pinning repositories is useful, being able to categorize pinned repositories would be even more helpful.
Proposed Solution:
Allow users to organize their starred repositories into custom folders for better management.
Users can create folder names like "Current Projects," "Learning Resources," or "Favorite Tools" to better organize and access their starred repos.
Allow users to pin multiple repositories under categories such as "Important," "Personal Projects," or "Team Projects."
This would make it easier to differentiate between the most relevant repositories on their profile page.
Benefits:
Improved Organization: Users can categorize repositories based on their needs, avoiding a long, unorganized list.
Customization: Users can personalize how they manage and access their most important repositories.
Faster Navigation: Quickly locate repositories without having to scroll through an extensive list of starred repositories.
Thank you for considering this feature request! I believe it would make GitHub even more efficient and user-friendly.
