Edit allowed values for status field with GraphQL API

How can I edit the allowed values for the status field in Project V2 using GraphQL or the REST API? I haven't found an API endpoint that allows this.

A possible workaround was to delete the existing status field and create a new one with the correct values. However, I encountered the following error: "Only custom fields can be deleted."
