I would like to subscribe to GitHub Copilot and pay in EUR. However, GitHub displays the price in USD and only seems to allow payment in USD. Is there a way to change the currency and pay in EUR?

I have exactly the same problem. My EUR account has been charged in USD, for which my bank charges significant fees.

No, GitHub currently does not offer a setting to switch GitHub Copilot pricing from USD to EUR. Copilot plans are listed and billed in USD (for example, Copilot Pro is advertised as $10 USD/month)

Just as feedback, but until GitHub offers regional pricing models, I, for one, will not be subscribing.

Quite apart from the excessive bank fees and charges when paying in a foreign currency, USD has become eye-wateringly expensive, especially here in Japan.

Unfortunately, you cannot change the currency for GitHub Copilot — it's locked to USD.

The reason is that Copilot billing is credit-based:

· 1 AI credit = $0.01 USD
· Usage budgets are set in USD
· The entire billing system is USD-centric

💳 What you can do instead:

1. Use PayPal — often has better conversion rates than banks
2. Use a credit card with zero foreign transaction fees — like someone else mentioned, "paying via Visa has less fees"
3. Double-check your billing address — make sure it's correct for your country (won't change currency, but prevents payment failures)
