Snowflake Error with certificate revoked

Our GitHub actions are now failing when trying to write data to a snowflake database. It was working fine until 2 days ago.
The main error is shown below
254007: The certificate is revoked or could not be validated: hostname=sfc-va2-ds1-38-customer-stage.s3.amazonaws.com

The script is python and uses pandas.

It works locally on a Windows machine and also on AWS Lambda.

The code is not changed and they all just fail now.

We have tried turning off the OCSP as per some instructions but this does not work.

Is anyone able to advise.

I needed to add the below parameter to the snowflake connection
con = snowflake.connector.connect(
...
disable_ocsp_checks=True,
)

After seeing it in this article

Something has still changed on the backend which is frustrating but hopefully issue fixed.

Same issue here. They address it in their status page: https://status.snowflake.com/incidents/txclg2cyzq32

Note that upgrading to snowflake-connector-python version 3.15.0 seemed to do the trick, most likely because of this change: "OCSP: terminate certificates chain traversal if a trusted certificate already reached."

Thanks for posting the status link, I was so confused of what happened!

I solved this issue by update from 3.7.1 to 3.15.0

Pinning certifi to v2025.1.31 also helps if you can't upgrade snowflake-connector-python to version 3.15.0

Seems to be working for combination certifi-2025.4.26 snowflake-connector-python-3.15.0 for me (did not with certifi-v2025.1.31).
You can try setting os.environ["SF_OCSP_FAIL_OPEN"] to true as well, if this does not work.

I just hit this error and resolved it by updating snowflake-connector-python to v3.16.0 and snowflake to v1.7. Unfortunately, it seems that minor releases cause breakages for older versions regularly.
