Hello GitHub Support & Community,

I have been actively reporting hundreds of GitHub profiles that are blatantly posting spam and scam links in their profiles, deceiving users and harming the community. Despite submitting numerous reports, no action has been taken, and these profiles continue to exist, scamming people daily.

Key Issues:

Support Response is Extremely Slow: Reports take too long to be reviewed, allowing scammers to operate freely.
Scammers Adapt Quickly: Even when a few links are removed, new profiles with similar spam links appear every day.
GitHub is Being Exploited as a Scam Platform: These fraudulent links harm GitHub’s reputation and put users at risk.
Immediate Requests:
🔹 Prioritize Removal – Actively review and remove reported spam profiles without delay.
🔹 Implement Stricter Measures – Strengthen automated detection to prevent spam profiles from being created in the first place.
🔹 Enhance Response Time – Increase the efficiency of support handling these reports, especially when multiple users flag the same issue.

This discussion/help request is one of the key reasons why I will be moving all of my orgs and projects away from github into a self-hosted solution in the near future.
You have ZERO quality control.
You provide ZERO support.

@dany-90 opened a valid issue, referencing many open tickets and provides further proof and all he gets are answers from the fking github actions bot. What the f?

AI and bots are spamming issues and PRs left and right and hinder the work of thousands of projects and you can't even come up with a barebone solution or don't even care to at least reply to the thousands of people asking for your help.

Github has become a total shitshow eversince Microsoft took over.
All you care about nowadays is shoving your incompetent crap AI that noone wants aka copilot into everything (which causes more problems than it solves because now issues everywhere are littered with false copilot advice) you can get your dirty hands on.
Shame on you github and shame on you Microsoft.

They didn't post a personalized response, but the links listed by Dany-90 in his message have been cleaned up and now lead to a 404 page. I had already noticed this some time ago. I myself reported a spammer in May, and GitHub also banned his page.

Well, good for him but that still doesn't solve anything in the longterm because there is no protection at all that prevents bots/AI/spammers from doing that in the first place.
There is no captcha to create a github account, there is no captcha to open issues, PRs or comments, BUT there is a captcha when you want to report users.
And it takes forever for github to even react to these, if they react at all.
I was even harassed by someone for almost half a year (used many accounts) and it took github over 5? (I dont know how many I opened anymore) separate reports and said half year to finally do something.
Do you see what I mean? It's ridiculous.
I have disabled all issues and PRs for one of my projects because I'm so fucking done dealing with the amount of spam I got.
