If you're looking to get your website up and running quickly using GitHub Pages, here’s the streamlined process:

1. Create a Repository
   Name it as: username.github.io (replace username with your actual GitHub username).

2. Add Your Website Files
   You can upload static HTML/CSS/JS files directly.

Or, if you're using a framework like Jekyll, Next.js, or Hugo, build the static output first.

3. Enable GitHub Pages
   Go to the repo’s Settings > Pages.
   Select the branch (e.g., main) and the folder (usually /root or /docs).
   Click Save — GitHub will publish it in a few seconds.

4. Access Your Site
   Visit: https://username.github.io
   If you're using a custom domain, you can configure DNS and drop a CNAME file in the repo root.

Luckily GitHub Pages allows you to swiftly publish webpages.

To do so:

• You should create a repository (any name)
• Go into repository settings
• Go to Pages
  If your website is built on pure html css js:
• Use upload from branch and select the folder you have the index.html file in (!IMPORTANT!)
  This will create a github workflow to deploy static pages to your .github.io/<repo_name>

If your website is built using a framework (Next.js, Svelte, e.t.c.):

• Search for a release workflow in your framework's document page. You won't be able to automatically deploy it, unless you do it.

IF you want a /github.io website you have to name your repository .github.io.

Also, please note, that if you do not have GitHub Enterprise subscription, you will have to keep your repo public.

To use a custom domain, add a CNAME file with your domain in the repo root and create a DNS CNAME record pointing your domain to username.github.io

yes, but using AWS it does not allow to do it that way, use this guide

It shouldn't be that complicated, github provides an official documentation on Github Pages:

Hey @K3013 — if you're just getting started and want to set up a GitHub Pages site quickly, here’s a simple way:

1. Create a new repo (or use an existing one).

2. Add an index.html file to the root of the repo.

3. Go to Settings > Pages in the repo.

4. Under "Build and deployment", set:

   • Source: Deploy from a branch
   • Branch: Choose main (or your default)
   • Folder: / (root)

5. Click Save — GitHub will give you a public URL.

Your site should be live in seconds.

You can also use Jekyll themes if you want something more styled without much code. Just drop a _config.yml and pick a theme.
