I understand you recently left an organization and are now trying to subscribe to GitHub Copilot for your personal account, but you're experiencing issues with this transition. This is a known issue that several other GitHub users have experienced.

When you leave an organization that provided you with GitHub Copilot access, your personal account can sometimes remain in a state where it's still shown as "managed" by that organization, even though you no longer belong to it. This prevents you from subscribing to Copilot on your own.

1. Contact Your Former Organization:

   • The most reliable solution reported by users is to ask your former organization's admin to remove your Copilot seat assignment.
   • According to a similar discussion, once the organization removes your seat, there's a propagation delay, after which you'll be able to manage Copilot on your own.

2. Wait for the Next Billing Cycle:

   • If contacting your former organization isn't possible, the system should automatically free up your seat at the next GitHub billing cycle for that organization.

3. Sign Out and Back In (after the above):

   • After either solution above, try completely signing out of GitHub in your browser and IDE, then sign back in.

4. Access Copilot Free:

   • Once the issue is resolved, you can start with Copilot Free which includes:
     • Up to 2,000 code completions in IDEs per month
     • Up to 50 total chat requests per month
   • Or subscribe to Copilot Pro ($10/month) or Pro+ ($39/month) for more features

5. Contact GitHub Support:

   • If none of the above works, you can contact GitHub Support for direct assistance.

How to Subscribe Once the Issue is Resolved

Once your account is no longer shown as managed by the organization:

1. Go to the GitHub Copilot plans page
2. Click "Get started" under your preferred plan
3. Choose your billing cycle (monthly or yearly)
4. Complete the subscription process

For JetBrains and Xcode environments specifically (which you mentioned in your labels), you'll need to first set up your subscription on GitHub, then authenticate in your IDE.
