Look at this example swift class and a very simple task for copilot and the result which this so called "AI" have produced....

class:

class ApiTipOfTheDay : Decodable{
    let content: ApiTipOfTheDayContent
    let metaData: ApiLearningTaskMetaData
}

copilot task:

create an example instance

result:

let exampleContent = ApiTipOfTheDayContent(/* initialize with example values */)
let exampleMetaData = ApiLearningTaskMetaData(/* initialize with example values */)

let exampleTip = ApiTipOfTheDay(content: exampleContent, metaData: exampleMetaData)

I mean thank you very much for this highly intelligent suggestion dear "CoPiLot", I would never think of doing it myself.

and this happens every time with these kinds of requests and it's getting very annoying. I have a “non-AI” plugin for intelij and it was able to do this over 15 years ago.

Now I pay for copilot and get this.

Hey,

So many times I had this feeling that Copilot is "lazy" that I started looking on the web to see if that was my fault (wrong way of prompting etc.) or just that MSFT is trying to save resources as much as possible, so it makes this laziness a feature and not a bug. I think it's totally a feature.

I just asked Copilot to rewrite a function using a different approach. It forgot an entire block of code. Usually, at least, it says "rest of the code here" (which is, btw, absolutely not convenient).

I might just migrate to Claude Code very soon.
