Here's the fantastic news: GPT-5 mini is rolling out to ALL Copilot plans, including Copilot Free!

You'll be able to access this powerful new model in:

• GitHub Copilot Chat on github.com
• Visual Studio Code through the chat model picker
• GitHub Mobile on iOS and Android

Support for additional IDEs is coming soon, so stay tuned for further updates!

No Premium Request Consumption

For users on paid plans, GPT-5 mini is offered as an included model and will not consume premium requests. This makes it an excellent choice for everyday coding tasks where you want quick, efficient assistance.

For Copilot Enterprise and Business Administrators

If you're a Copilot Enterprise or Business administrator, you'll need to opt in by enabling the new GPT-5 mini policy in Copilot settings. Once enabled, users in your organization will see "GPT-5 mini (Preview)" in the model picker in:
