Unable t configure GitHub Copilot with VS code

If you’re having trouble configuring GitHub Copilot with VS Code, here are the steps you can follow to get it working:

1. Make sure requirements are met
   VS Code updated to the latest version (Download here)

GitHub account (personal or enterprise)

Active GitHub Copilot subscription (Sign up here)

2. Install the GitHub Copilot extension
   Open VS Code

Go to the Extensions tab (Ctrl+Shift+X)

Search for "GitHub Copilot"

Click Install

3. Sign in to GitHub
   After installation, a sign-in prompt will appear.

Click "Sign in to GitHub" → follow the browser authentication steps → authorize VS Code to access your GitHub account.

4. Enable Copilot in VS Code
   Press Ctrl+Shift+P → type "Copilot: Enable" → press Enter.

Make sure Settings → Copilot has "Enable" checked for your languages.

5. Test Copilot
   Open a new file (e.g., test.js or test.py)

Start typing code → Copilot suggestions will appear in gray.

Press Tab or → to accept.

6. If it still doesn’t work!
   Check Help → Toggle Developer Tools for any errors.

Make sure your firewall or proxy isn’t blocking VS Code extensions.

Sign out and back in (Ctrl+Shift+P → “GitHub: Sign out”).

Restart VS Code.
