Just joined the October check-in. This month I worked on improving my GitHub profile and pushing more meaningful projects publicly. I’m currently experimenting with computer-vision models and automated workflows, so this check-in comes at the right time — the new profile guides are actually helpful. |

We’ve got a few Profile treats for you this month! 🍭
Catch up on community highlights, explore new guides, and find quick tips to make your profile even stronger.
✨ Community Highlights
This month, @AlbertoSRQ opened Remove all traces commits, asking how to fully remove commit history from a repository.
@AliMahmoudDev shared a detailed and practical answer - explaining when rewriting history is safe, and how to use
git filter-repoto clean up old commits without breaking your repo. It’s a great reminder that clear, technical answers can help others avoid headaches down the line.
🆕 New Content: Your Profile Guides
We’ve launched a new set of resources to help you understand and manage how your profile represents your work on GitHub:
⬆️ Level Up: Sharpen Your Profile Skills
Achievements, green squares, and profile updates kept the community busy this month.
Sharpen your Profile skills with a few reads that go beyond the basics.
Now, if you want to go from “basics” to “Profile Pro,” GitHub Docs has a dedicated page that brings together everything you need to know about managing your account and profile.
From customizing your README to fixing missing contributions or changing your username, this page is a one-stop shop for all the practical how-tos you might need.
Thanks for sharing, helping, and making the Profile category such a great place to learn from each other.
See you in November with more highlights and ideas to explore.
