Hey @jayluos 👋 We are seeing a higher volume of student developer pack inquiries coming through. We are working our way through addressing these as fast as possible. I can share that your request has been passed onto the GitHub Education team and will be processed as soon as possible, but I am afraid I do not have a timeline to share for when you can expect this to happen. Usually with these types of tickets we may include an investigation as fraudulent activity has been identified on either the account or the associated school's. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our due diligence ensuring that bad actors impersonating students don't jeopardise our ability to provide academic benefits of value. As no other Community Discussions team members will be able to provide additional help with account related questions I am going to close this discussion. We appreciate your understanding! |

Hi everyone,
I am writing to formally appeal the revocation of my GitHub Student Developer Pack. I am a genuine student who fully meets the eligibility requirements, and I believe this revocation was a mistake, likely triggered by my network environment.
The Student Developer Pack has been an invaluable resource for my studies and personal projects. Upon receiving the revocation notice, I was very surprised and have since reflected on what might have caused it.
I suspect that my account may have been flagged by your security systems because I used a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection from Hong Kong SAR, China. The only reason I used the VPN was to access and redeem certain developer tool benefits within the Pack that are geo-located to different regions. I encountered connectivity issues during the redemption process and was attempting to complete it successfully.
I want to assure you of the following:
I own and operate only one GitHub account, which I use solely for my own development work.
All student verification documents I submitted are authentic and valid.
My use of a VPN was not intended for any fraudulent activity, abuse, or violation of the Terms of Service. It was solely an attempt to overcome network hurdles to access the educational benefits I am entitled to.
I sincerely apologize if my method of accessing these services caused any confusion or triggered a false positive in your fraud detection systems. I am a sincere learner and deeply value my GitHub account. I will ensure to avoid using any proxy or VPN services when accessing my GitHub account in the future to maintain clear and consistent account activity.
If needed, I can promptly re-upload my valid student proof for your re-verification. I kindly and sincerely request you to review my case and grant me another chance to restore my benefits.
Thank you very much for your time and understanding. I eagerly await your positive response.
Sincerely,
jayluos
