Hi @Abthon ! 👋 That is definitely frustrating, especially after seeing the "Congratulations" message! This is actually a known hiccup that happens frequently with the Student Developer Pack. The error "Your account is unable to sign up for Copilot" usually happens for one of two reasons:
Here are a few workarounds that have worked for others: 1. Try the Direct Signup LinkSometimes the main button is buggy. Try going directly to this URL while logged in: 2. Check the "Explore More Offers" Page
3. The "Wait and See" (Syncing)If you were just verified as a student today, wait a few hours (or up to 24 hours), then log out and log back in. The system might just need time to catch up. 4. Contacting Support (The Right Way)If none of the above works, you must contact support as the error says. To get a faster response:
Hope you get access soon! 🤞 |

It usually means GitHub’s system marked the account as eligible, but when you click the button, their billing/verification backend still thinks something is missing or not fully synced, so the page blocks you with that “unable to sign up” message. The quickest fixes are to log out and back in, try from a different browser, or wait a few hours for the eligibility status to refresh but if it still shows that same banner, the only real solution is to contact GitHub Support because the error is on their side, not yours, and they have to manually unblock your account. |

Hi everyone,
I received the message: “🎉 Congratulations! You are eligible to use GitHub Copilot for free.”
But as soon as I clicked the “Get access to GitHub Copilot” button, I got an error toast saying:
“Your account is unable to sign up for Copilot. Please contact Support.”
I need this urgently. Please help me.
