Issue: Copilot Response Truncation for Large AngularJS → Angular Conversion Tasks in VS Code

Environment:

• Editor: VS Code
• Extension: GitHub Copilot
• Use Case: Migrating AngularJS components to Angular (17+)
• Input Size Provided to Copilot:
  • AngularJS component (~1000+ lines)
  • Target Angular component
  • Upgrade instruction .md file
  • Additional context files

Problem Summary

While converting a large AngularJS component into an Angular 17+ component using GitHub Copilot, I provided complete context including:

• Full AngularJS component (~1000+ lines) including html and js file
• converted Angular 17 component
• Upgrade instruction Markdown file
• Additional supporting context

However, Copilot consistently truncates responses, generating only partial files:

• HTML template: Only ~200–300 lines generated (actual size ~1000 lines)
• TS/JS logic files: Output cuts off midway and remains incomplete

This truncation happens repeatedly, Copilot does not show any warning that it hit internal limits.

Expected Behavior

• Copilot should generate complete outputs when full context is provided
• If technical limits exist, it should notify users when truncation occurs
• Large-file migration workflows should be supported without unexpected cutoffs

Actual Behavior

• Responses stop after ~200–300 lines
• No warnings or errors indicating token/output limits
• Same behavior observed across HTML, TS, and JS generation
• Makes large AngularJS → Angular migrations very difficult, requiring fallback to manual scripts
