I cannot use github copilot pro, my application github education is approved but still i can not use github copilot pro

If you’ve been approved for GitHub Education but Copilot Pro still isn’t active, it’s usually just a sync delay.

First, check that your Education benefits page shows Copilot Pro as included. If it does, sign out of GitHub completely, log back in, and restart your editor to refresh everything.

If it’s still not working after a bit, contact GitHub Support with a screenshot of your Education approval. They can activate it manually.

If your GitHub Education application is approved but you still can’t use Copilot Pro, here are the common reasons:

Benefit not activated yet
Approval for GitHub Education does not always automatically enable Copilot.
Go to:
GitHub → Settings → Copilot → Plans & Billing
Make sure Copilot Pro is actually activated under your account.

You haven’t claimed the student benefit
Sometimes you must manually enable Copilot through the GitHub Education benefits page.

Signed into wrong account in IDE
Ensure your VS Code or IDE is logged into the same GitHub account that has the Education approval.

Copilot extension not installed / outdated
Update or reinstall the GitHub Copilot extension.

Activation delay
It can take some time after approval for Copilot access to become active.

If the issue persists, contact GitHub Support and include:

Your GitHub username

Confirmation that Education is approved

That will help them check if the benefit is properly linked to your account.

Yeah, this happens pretty often after the GitHub Education benefits get approved.

From your screenshot it shows your student status was verified on Feb 23 and it also says benefits become available up to 72 hours after verification. Until that window finishes, Copilot Pro will not activate.

Also important: approval of the Student Pack and activation of Copilot are two separate steps.

Make sure you:

• open the Student Developer Pack page and click the link to redeem the Copilot Pro offer
• confirm that Copilot Pro shows as active under Settings → Copilot
• sign out and sign back in after redeeming so entitlements refresh

If more than 72 hours have passed and Copilot still is not active, it is usually a sync delay or the coupon was not redeemed yet.

In that case, try redeeming again from the education benefits page, then log out and back in.

If it still does not activate after that, GitHub Support can verify the entitlement on your account.

Nothing looks wrong in your screenshot — it just appears to still be within the activation window or waiting for the redemption step.
