Option to open Codespaces in a new browser tab from repository dropdown

Current Story

Currently, when selecting a Codespace from the Code → Codespaces dropdown within a repository, the Codespace opens in the same browser tab, replacing the repository view.

For workflows that involve frequent context-switching between browsing the repository (issues, PRs, file history, discussions) and actively editing in a Codespace, this behavior introduces friction. Users must manually navigate back to the repository or reopen it in another tab.

Proposed Improvement

Add one of the following:

• An option to open Codespaces in a new tab by default, or
• A clearly visible “Open in new tab” action in the dropdown menu, or
• A user preference setting for Codespaces launch behavior.

Workflow Impact

This would:

• Improve multitasking between repo browsing and development
• Reduce repetitive navigation steps
• Better support review-driven workflows (e.g., referencing PRs or issues while coding)
• Align with common browser UX patterns for launching environments

Additional Context

While users can manually open in a new tab using Cmd/Ctrl+Click or right-click, this behavior isn’t obvious and interrupts flow. A built-in option would make the experience more intuitive and efficient.
