Current Story
Currently, when selecting a Codespace from the Code → Codespaces dropdown within a repository, the Codespace opens in the same browser tab, replacing the repository view.
For workflows that involve frequent context-switching between browsing the repository (issues, PRs, file history, discussions) and actively editing in a Codespace, this behavior introduces friction. Users must manually navigate back to the repository or reopen it in another tab.
