Hi everyone,

I got this message now the 3rd time: "We couldn’t verify your academic affiliation based on your submission". The problem is the following: as I have a permanent position I do not get a new contract each year. I was eligible for Github Pro Education two year ago until you dropped it recently. If I now upload the very same contract again you just reject without providing a clear reason. If you change your in house rules for who can apply then please document it well. At the moment I have no idea what the hell you want me to upload with a single photo taken from my camera. I just get these random Issues to address:

• The text in the photo you used was unable to be read. If using your device camera, make sure the image is clear and legible. For some languages, you may need to capture the original document beside an English translation.

=> same document as before. Even taken a new picture right from your App. It is clear and legible unless you changed your rules.

• The image you selected does not appear to contain your school name. Your complete school name must appear in your document, not only the school logo. You may include multiple documents together. If your official document is not in English then you may photograph the original next to an English translation.

=> same document as before. And yes it contains the name of the University.

• Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your last name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information. If you have only a single legal name, enter it in both the first and last name fields of your GitHub billing information.

=> I did not touch the settings of my account. It still perfectly shows identical information with the contract I am uploading

• Your document does not appear to indicate you as a faculty member. If you meant to apply as a student, please cancel your application and reapply here.

=> The contract which I upload perfectly indicates that I am a faculty member

• Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your first name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information. Variations of your name and nicknames are unacceptable.

=> I did not touch the settings of my account. It still perfectly shows identical information with the contract I am uploading

• You are unlikely to be verified until you have completed your GitHub user profile with your full name exactly as it appears in your academic affiliation document. Please do not use a variation of your name or a nickname. Once you have updated your profile information log out and log back into GitHub before re-applying.

Finally, as you pointed towards a translation in English: you just discontinued the manual review of applications and everything is conducted with AI agents: you do not trust their translation abilities? OMG. As a solution you point me to the community page for help. Here I just scroll trough painful Q no helpful A. I conclude that your education program is dead and you want to sell a product. This is fine, just be clear. Until you solved your problems Github Education is dead.
