Question on Metadata on Public Issues in Projects Beta

We are looking forward to Projects Beta because it seems to have a lot of the features we need to invest more in Github projects but we do not have access to the Beta yet and I have one crucial question that is blocking decision.

The big use case we are curious about is we are an open core company that needs to associate private metadata (customer names) to issues. Currently we need to maintain a whole set of other tools to do this. If the new Github Projects allows us to add arbitrary metadata to issues on the private board without that metadata being public, that would allow us to leave the other products.

Does the new Github Projects Beta have that capability?
