Earlier this week, we held the latest session in our EDGE - Elevate, Deliver, Grow, Evolve - programme, designed to give our mid-career colleagues the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and impact. This module focused on our Capital Markets and Trading team, who play a vital role in shaping and delivering the funding strategy that supports Avolon’s growth and performance objectives. Stephen O'Flanagan and Ciara Reilly led an engaging discussion that explained how funding strategy, trading priorities, and capital market dynamics drive resilience and competitive advantage – connecting the dots on how these decisions are made across the business.
Ciara Reilly is a VP in Avolon’s Capital Markets and Trading team. She began her career as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte before discovering a passion for aircraft leasing. She joined Avolon in 2017 and has since held roles across pricing, asset planning, and now in the capital markets and trading team. Ciara believes that bravery and curiosity are key to career mobility - asking for advice and trusting the value of your unique experience can unlock new career paths. We are excited to announce the delivery of an Airbus A320 aircraft to Aero K Airlines, strengthening their fleet as they continue expanding affordable air travel across Korea and Asia. Niall O' Callaghan is the third story in our Changing Swim Lanes series. He joined Avolon in 2019 as a Graduate from University College Dublin. Since then, he’s taken on a range of roles including with the credit and commercial teams, and most recently working close to ‘the metal’ in Avolon’s technical team. Niall combines his working life with a busy GAA career as a member of the Dublin football panel, and All Ireland Club Championship winner with his club, Cuala. We were also delighted to be awarded the European M&A Deal of the Year for our acquisition of Castlelake Aviation Limited completed earlier this year.

Haldane is Executive Director of the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) which advocates for the powerful economic and social contribution the aviation industry makes, supporting over 86 million jobs and $4.1 trillion of economic activity. Haldane also spoke about how aviation is navigating decarbonisation and the crucial role of sustainable aviation fuel.
