When you choose to publish your work open access, in a hybrid or open access journal, an article processing charge (APC) usually applies. The article processing charge accounts for the range of publishing services we provide, from production and distribution to integrity and accessibility. This fee is set by the journal and is often covered by funders and institutions directly.
