The NJBIZ 2025 Women’s Leadership Summit will bring together the state’s top female professionals to learn from one another and build a network to create change.
Taking place Nov. 12 at The Marigold Somerset, the second annual event will offer a powerhouse morning focused on career development, personal growth, leadership and networking.
Attendees will include up-and-coming leaders, CEOs, managers and industry icons from all backgrounds and industries.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Chrissy Buteas, president and CEO of the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey.
Founded in 1997, HINJ serves as the trade association for leading research-based biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies in New Jersey.
The organization offered a sneak peek of the keynote address, saying Buteas “will spotlight her inspiring path — from being mentored to mentoring young women; from supporting and engaging in women’s advocacy efforts to ultimately leading an organization herself; and now to guiding a New Jersey trade association focused on advancing patient health, with a strong commitment to women’s health.”
A 2025 NJBIZ Health Care Power List honoree, Buteas joined Trenton-based HINJ in April 2024.
The Women’s Leadership Summit will also include breakfast, networking opportunities and two panels:
More information about the day’s agenda and how to purchase tickets is available on the event page.
At the time of the leadership announcement, Chris Lepore, then-trustees chair, and vice president, U.S. State Affairs, Johnson & Johnson, described Buteas as “a highly regarded and accomplished businessperson with statewide recognition.”
Before joining HINJ, Buteas served as vice president of government affairs at broadband communications and video service provider Optimum. She also served as chief government affairs officer of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, a role that enabled her to influence policies affecting the 1 million employees of member companies, according to HINJ.
Buteas also held leadership positions at business political action committee NEW JOBS PAC and the Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey.
Additionally, she serves on numerous boards of trustees, including Middlesex College; New Jersey Innovation Institute; the National Association of Corporate Directors, NJ Chapter; South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University; Women’s Political Caucus of NJ; among others.
Buteas earned a Master of Public Administration from the School of Public Affairs and Administration from Rutgers University-Newark and a bachelor’s from Rowan University.
