Syed A. udostępnił(a) toI’ve always told my sales teams the same thing: You never know where your next customer is coming from. I think the exact same rule applies to your career. The next opportunity might come from a post you wrote today. A video you almost didn’t record. A follow up you nearly forgot to send. Or a one hour call that doesn’t seem important at the time. Most people stop showing up too early. Don’t.
-
Syed A. udostępnił(a) toOne thing I’ve noticed quite frequently. Folks love talking about what they’re building. Very few actually build it. I’ve been guilty of that too. Thinking. Planning. Researching. Getting feedback. It feels productive. It’s usually procrastination wearing a different outfit. Putting the reps in is no issue provided it's leading to a certain result. Don't kid yourself in the process.

Syed A. udostępnił(a) toOne of the easiest ways to fool yourself into thinking you’re growing as a business is to only look at new ARR. Plenty of new coverage nowadays is all about new ARR hit in x months. I've been in all hand meetings where everyone is celebrating a record sales quarter. Pipeline being healthy, new logos coming in, and the top of the funnel numbers looking great. Then someone pulls up retention. The room gets a lot quieter. When that happens, the instinct is usually to generate more pipeline, hire more salespeople, or double down on outbound. Sometimes that’s the right answer. But sometimes the better question is: Should we have signed some of those customers in the first place? In my experience, churn rarely starts at renewal. It starts much earlier, when the wrong customers are brought in, expectations don’t match reality, or the pressure to hit the quarter outweighs the discipline to say no. Winning customers matters. Keeping the right ones is what compounds.

Syed A. udostępnił(a) toI think we've accidentally optimized the living hell out of communication and forgotten how to connect. You can send a voice note in five seconds. Jump on Zoom with someone on the other side of the world. Ask gpt or claude to write your email. Text several people at once. And somehow we're lonelier than we've ever been. As much as we would like it to be, it does not seem to be a technology problem. It's very much a creation of our own making. I had Maggie Arai 🪩 on Messy Growth and we discussed this topic at length. People don't actually want another networking event. They want a reason to talk to another human being. There's a difference. Anyone can rent a venue, order drinks, and print name tags. Building a room where strangers leave feeling like they belong? That's the hard part. This is only going to become more valuable over the next few years. The more AI writes. The more bots reply. The more screens we stare at. The more we'll crave the one thing technology can't fake. A real conversation. That's what this week's episode is about. Link in the comments.

Syed A. udostępnił(a) toOne of the biggest leadership lessons I’ve learned: 👉 Your job isn’t to squeeze more out of talented people. It’s to build an environment where talented people can do their best work. There’s a huge difference. Hiring another great salesperson won’t fix a broken environment. Clear ICP. Consistent messaging. Realistic targets. Good coaching. That’s what gives talented people a chance to succeed. The rest is just expensive hiring.

Syed A. udostępnił(a) toI’ve sat through enough GTM postmortems to notice a pattern. The agency gets fired. The messaging gets rewritten. The outbound motion changes. Everyone feels productive because something is happening. But nobody stops to ask what if we never gave the last strategy enough time to work? Movement and progress aren’t the same thing.

Syed A. udostępnił(a) toI used to do this stupid thing every time I had a new "business" idea. The first thing I’d do was go to hostinger and buy the domain 😅, I’d convince myself that owning the URL somehow meant I’d started. Then a year would go by. The renewal email would land in my inbox, and it almost felt personal. I’d look at the domain, realize I’d done absolutely nothing with it, feel like shit for about five minutes, renew it anyway, and tell myself, that this is the year we attack this head on haha. That start never happened. I did that more times than I’d like to admit. So when I started Messy Growth, I made a promise to myself: I wasn’t allowed to buy the domain until I’d published at least 50 videos. No website. No homepage. No 50 iterations on the way the logo looks. Just publish. Looking back, I’m really glad I did. Those videos turned into conversations with some incredible people, a community I never expected to build, and a lot of lessons that were worth writing down. So today, messygrowth.io is finally live. Not because I needed a website. Because now I finally have something worth putting on one. So buying the domain was the easy part, its the showing up 50+ times that gets you where you need to go.

Syed A. udostępnił(a) toEvery founder wants to stand out. Which is exactly why so many end up sounding identical. Same old copy perfected and Ai-ed by the whole marketing team. The more crowded the market gets, the more we pile on. Bigger claims. More features. A broader story that tries to speak to everyone. Until nobody can answer the most basic question a stranger asks at a conference: So what do you actually do? I had Simon Schmitz on Messy Growth and he said something that I had to write down and make a note of. Politics isn't about the best policies. It's about the clearest message. Business is no different. You can build something genuinely great. But if someone lands on your website and can't figure out what you do in 30 seconds, you've already lost them. They're not coming back. The hardest thing isn't building the product. It's having the guts to say: this is who we're for, this is the problem we fix, this is why we're different and actually cutting everything else. Most founders can't do it. Not because they don't know their product. Because narrowing down feels like leaving money on the table. It's not. Clarity is the competitive advantage most people are too scared to use. Episode is out now. Link in the comments.

Syed A. udostępnił(a) toI'm near the arctic circle with spotty internet but had to get this video out :D In my journey through Messy Growth, I feel like some conversations leave a mark and sometimes people you speak to leave a mark. Very rarely, you get both. This was one of those. Before this conversation, I thought Jillian Richardson helped people write better LinkedIn posts. I was wrong. What she’s really trying to do is give people permission to stop sounding like everyone else. In a world where AI can generate a perfectly polished post in five seconds, she’s betting on the one thing that still can’t be automated: personality. Not louder. Not more controversial. Just more human. Her energy is infectious. She’s funny, brutally honest, deeply thoughtful, and somehow makes talking about LinkedIn feel like talking about human psychology. By the end of our conversation, I wasn’t thinking about algorithms or ghostwriting anymore. I was thinking about how many incredibly smart people spend their careers hiding behind language that doesn’t even sound like them. That’s a shame. Because the thing most people are trying so hard to protect, their professionalism is often the very thing making them forgettable. This one made me reflect on what I can do better. I think it’ll stay with you too. Full episode in the comments.

Syed A. polecił(a) toSyed A. polecił(a) toMarketing and sales are a lot like eyebrows. They’re not meant to be twins. They’re cousins. Let me explain. The best marketers know how to sell, and the best salespeople know how to market. It’s not because they’re the loudest. Or because they know how to pressure someone into buying. It’s because they deeply understand people and why they buy. Great marketers know how to: 🧠 uncover what someone actually wants 🎯 position an offer around a real problem 🗣️ communicate value in a way that feels relevant 👂 recognize hesitation, resistance, and unspoken objections 🤝 build trust before asking someone to take action That is sales. The best salespeople do not force the close. They understand the buyer so well that the decision feels easy. And the best marketers do the same thing...at scale. They shape the message, create demand, and build trust. They give sales the language, proof, and momentum needed to move the conversation forward. But the strongest marketers do not stop at attention, engagement, or leads. They understand how marketing connects to pipeline, conversion, and revenue. Marketing and sales may have different roles, but they’re part of the same conversation. One of them starts it, and the other closes it.

Syed A. polecił(a) toSyed A. polecił(a) toAnother example of a service being dragged underwater by AI slop. Qwoted say they’ve been busy banning 50 accounts a day that are guilty of simply making up “experts”, as well as banning people using AI to fabricate answers on topics they know nothing about. I know Qwoted, HARO etc have always had some issues with misinformation, but AI (or, more specifically, our collective misuse of AI) is pouring significant gasoline on the fire. At some point, this has got to stop. How much AI slop have you had to contend with in your work? Has it changed how you pitch?

Syed A. polecił(a) toAn interesting move from the Customer io team – offering to send packs of cookies to attendees of their platform demo. It caught me right before my dinner as well, so I am a bit tempted. Which has me wondering – if I offered to send you, e.g., a pack of Polish sausage, would you sign up to see the Conductrics INC demo? 😁 (DM me for more details 😂)

How to Lower SaaS CAC Without Increasing Spend You can keep pumping traffic forever, but if there is friction on the way to registration, demo, and payment, part of your budget will get burned on clicks and signups that never turn into revenue. And often the problem is not the channel or the size of the spend, but how the user journey is built. In this carousel: public SaaS cases with numbers. Small, targeted changes in UX and copy delivered +11% to +70% conversion lifts on landing pages and forms. With acquisition spend unchanged and lead quality stable, this lowers CAC because more people become paying customers. Inside: • where users fall off before signup or demo, and how to reduce losses • which trust elements actually reduce doubt and increase signups • which form fields and extra steps most often kill conversions • how to simplify onboarding so more users reach value • how to validate changes via paid conversion so signup growth is not a mirage If you want to lower CAC without increasing budget, swipe through the carousel. #SaaS #B2B #ProductDesign #UX #CRO #Growth #PLG #CAC #Founders #Startup #Onboarding #Activation #ABTesting #Experimentation #ProductAnalytics #RevenueGrowth #CustomerAcquisition

Why do CEOs avoid pricing? Morten Klank, a 5x turnaround CEO, breaks down one of SaaS’s most avoided - yet most powerful - growth levers: repricing. Fear of backlash, bad past experiences, unclear ownership, or not knowing how to execute keep CEOs from acting - but ignoring it quietly erodes margins over time. If you’re responsible for pricing, this video shows why repricing matters and how to approach it the right way.

Transparency in SaaS pricing is a joke, right? We're tired of seeing "contact sales" buttons that lead to endless email threads and unclear costs. You should know exactly what you're paying before you sign up - no hidden fees, no surprises. That's why we built our pricing around simplicity and clarity. We believe you should be able to calculate your costs without needing a PhD in math. So, we're calling out to all SaaS companies: ditch the "contact sales" BS and give your customers the transparency they deserve. What's the most frustrating experience you've had with SaaS pricing?

Automating Revenue Operations with HubSpot Most teams think RevOps ends when a deal is marked Closed Won. In reality, that’s where the chaos usually begins. Sales moves on. Finance checks invoices. Delivery waits for confirmation. Projects start late — or start before payment is secured. The problem isn’t tools. It’s manual handoffs. Modern RevOps should work differently: Revenue events should trigger actions, not reminders. Contract sent → billing starts Payment received → delivery starts Partial payment → scope is controlled Financial data → deal updates automatically The key mindset shift is simple: No payment, no project. When HubSpot is connected properly with payments, accounting, and delivery tools, it becomes more than a CRM. It becomes a revenue orchestration layer. Automation isn’t about moving faster. It’s about trust — in your data, your handoffs, and your execution. If your team still asks, “Has the client paid yet?” Your RevOps isn’t automated yet.

How well does your team convert effort to outcome? For SaaS companies, that’s the real measure of sales efficiency. It starts with your growth number – take Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), for instance. Growth becomes meaningful when you compare your topline revenue goal to the efficiency metrics behind it: CAC, LTC, churn, and LTV:CAC. Each one measures a piece of the same system: how efficiently your business transforms investment in sales and marketing into lasting customer value. Monitoring each shows you where to focus when improving sales efficiency: ➡️CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) reveals what it takes to win new business. Tracking CAC over time shows whether your sales and marketing spend is driving growth efficiently or requiring more to achieve the same results. ➡️LTV (Lifetime Value) shows much value each customer creates before they churn. When paired with churn metrics, it tells you whether your revenue model compounds over time or constantly resets. ➡️Churn (gross, net, and logo) exposes what’s eroding your recurring revenue. Reducing churn strengthens your revenue floor and makes LTV more predictable. ➡️LTV:CAC Ratio brings it all together. This single KPI shows the sustainability of your growth, balancing how effectivity you acquire customers against how long you keep them. Measuring each of these metrics together reveals how well your team converts effort into outcome, showing whether growth is efficient, profitable, and built to last. To ensure consistent definitions and calculation of these key metrics, explore our SaaS Metrics Glossary: https://hubs.li/Q0431GYJ0

Quoting rarely breaks when pipeline is weak. It breaks when things are going well. Right after SKO, RevOps teams start to feel it. More momentum. More deal variety. More “this customer needs something slightly different.” And suddenly: • Quotes take longer • Approvals stack up late in the cycle • Deal Desk becomes a blocker instead of a helper • Sales asks if they can “just do it manually this once” This isn’t a performance issue. And it’s not a discipline problem. It’s a change problem. Most CPQs are designed for stability: Pricing set once or twice a year. Packages that rarely move. Approval paths that assume predictability. But modern B2B teams don’t sell that way anymore. Pricing evolves. Packaging gets tested. Terms change based on market pressure, not roadmaps. When every change requires a ticket, a consultant, or an exception process, RevOps becomes the buffer between reality and the system. That’s when quoting starts to feel heavy. The teams that move fastest aren’t adding more automation. They’re redesigning ownership. They ask a different question: Who can safely make changes when the business needs to move? At Vendori, we believe that answer should be RevOps — without code, consultants, or waiting on anyone else.

🧩 Why “Partner-Led” Fails Without Clear Ownership A lot of companies say they are partner-led. But when you ask one simple question: 👉 'Who actually owns partner revenue?' Things get awkward. Sales thinks partnerships will deliver leads. Partnerships think sales will close deals. RevOps thinks attribution is 'too messy.' So what happens? - Partners stay engaged. - Deals stay ambiguous. - Revenue stays unclaimed. Here’s the truth: Partner-led GTM without ownership is just optimism. The teams that get this right do three things: ✔ Assign a single owner for partner outcomes. ✔ Define what success looks like in the first 30–60–90 days. ✔ Treat partner revenue like first-class pipeline, not “assist” data. When ownership is clear, partners perform better. When ownership is fuzzy, everyone stays busy-but nothing compounds. At OrbitGro, this is often the first fix we recommend before scaling partner ops. 💡 Question: Who owns partner revenue in your org. today-really? #PartnerLed #PartnerOps #GTM #SaaS #Revenue #Growth #OrbitGro

"Silos are the #1 killer of your RevOps strategy." Cait Grabowski is absolutely right. These silos may look like: • Marketing calls every new contact a “qualified lead.” • Sales only considers 1 out of 10 “qualified.” • Customer success is flying blind because of inconsistent client data. The cure starts with simple, but transformative steps: 1️⃣ Align definitions (lead status, lifecycle, qualification, handoffs). 2️⃣ Unify KPIs so every team is working toward the same goals. 3️⃣ Design clear processes before evaluating new technology. When those pieces are in place, your CRM can reinforce the processes and definitions and become a shared source of truth that aligns revenue teams and accelerates growth. If your team feels stuck, start by asking: Where are your silos and what would it take to remove them?

🚀 Rethinking GTM in Traditional Industries. Most SaaS playbooks avoid cold calling. At Starboard, our CEO & Co-Founder Sumeet Trehan flips that script. 📞 100 cold calls → 10 pickups → 15–20% convert to discovery meetings 🍩 Door-to-door visits with donuts in hand 🤝 Radical transparency from the first 10 seconds: “This is a cold call—totally your choice if you want to continue.” The outcome? Starboard is now closing ~1–2 new deals every week. Sumeet Trehan personally closed the first 30 deals, gaining insights that shaped our GTM—and today, every dollar of marketing goes not to pitching product, but to educating the market on how AI is reshaping logistics. 🎧 Listen to the full conversation on Category Visionaries to learn why building in traditional industries requires completely different GTM strategies: 👉 https://lnkd.in/e-5b4zFS #GTMStrategy #Logistics #AI #FreightForwarding #CategoryVisionaries #Starboard

Everyone wants to move faster. Close faster. Hit quota faster. Build pipeline faster. But speed without clarity just multiplies chaos. You have to walk slow to run fast. In sales, that means slowing down long enough to actually understand your data before you act on it. → Which opportunities are truly moving? → Which ones have stalled? → What does your conversion data *actually* say about where you lose momentum? You don’t need more dashboards — you need rhythm. Because once you align your process with reality, speed takes care of itself. That’s what discipline looks like in modern sales. Sales Caddy AI Helping reps slow down just enough to find the rhythm that wins. #SalesLeadership #SalesCaddy #B2BSales #TheQualifiedSalesLeader #SalesProcess #RevenueExcellence
