Negative seller balance and repayment options

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share some guidance on a specific situation surrounding what happens when there is a negative seller balance, along with how to address these concerns.

Typically, the general cause of these situations is an unpaid balance, which is most commonly a cause of an invalid credit card on file. Having an invalid credit card prevents us from charging any remaining fees, creating a negative balance.

If there is a situation where you are informed of an unpaid balance, you will receive an email notification advising on the situation and suggestions on taking corrective action. If these actions are not taken in a timely manner, the account will be at risk of deactivation until the balance is paid.

Should you encounter a situation surrounding an invalid credit card, we first ask that you attempt to update your card information on seller central following the prompts provided when you sign in. If you continue to encounter the invalid credit card messaging, we advise updating your buyer account information as well. These accounts are tied together and simply updating or refreshing the information will help push the update.

There are also available repayment options, should you find yourself in a unique financial situation, hardship, or technical issues. On this help page we provide guidance on several options of repayment including wire transfers, checks, and adding a new credit card.

If you find yourself in a unique situation, we have also shared this team’s email address on the provided help page. This is shared to enable you to communicate any roadblock you encounter or follow up for more information. Do be aware that their responses may be limited depending on the situation.

As always, if you run into this type of situation and still need support, please do not hesitate to create your own thread and share your situation. If you need guidance on what to provide in your thread, please review my post on doing so.

The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.

Wishing you the best,

We have a negative balance of $0.54 on our USA account that showed up a couple weeks ago, but we don't sell on the USA marketplace, only Canada.

Can you help out with this?

You've charged us some FBA storage fees and applied a reimbursement to the USA marketplace which we do not have set up, and are charging us storage fees in the USA .com marketplace that we have never ever sent in inventory to or sold a single sale on, as we are a .ca only.
