We just added a small but powerful feature to Shield, and it's available on every plan. You now have fine-grained control over how verified bots interact with your site. You can allow, block, or ignore any of them, individually or by category (search engines, AI crawlers, AI tools, social, and more). But it also meant that the moment a response was cached, your code was out of the loop. You had to choose between caching and control. Now you can have both ✌️ Edge Scripts can run before the cache too, giving your code control over every request. And the new Cache API gives your scripts a separate cache at the edge where they can read, write, and delete entries on your terms. What this unlocks: → Auth, sessions, and personalization that run on every request, cached or not → Multi-tenant caching rules, keyed and purged per tenant → Microcaching and dynamic patterns → Full-stack serverless CRUD apps when paired with a backend like Bunny Database Post-cache execution stays the default, so you keep compute out of the hot path when the cache is enough. Not every attack announces itself with a massive traffic spike. Sometimes it's 50,000 login attempts from 50,000 different IPs. Individually, each request looks harmless.
