We just added a small but powerful feature to Shield, and it's available on every plan. You now have fine-grained control over how verified bots interact with your site. You can allow, block, or ignore any of them, individually or by category (search engines, AI crawlers, AI tools, social, and more). It also plugs into the Rule Engine, so you can build verified bot categories straight into your WAF rules. Docs: https://lnkd.in/dHkNvRXg Changelog: https://lnkd.in/dJ9KuXxZ

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗰𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗣𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Until now, your code always ran after the CDN cache. Efficient, because cached traffic never touched your script. But it also meant that the moment a response was cached, your code was out of the loop. You had to choose between caching and control. Now you can have both ✌️ Edge Scripts can run before the cache too, giving your code control over every request. And the new Cache API gives your scripts a separate cache at the edge where they can read, write, and delete entries on your terms. What this unlocks: → Auth, sessions, and personalization that run on every request, cached or not → Multi-tenant caching rules, keyed and purged per tenant → Microcaching and dynamic patterns → Full-stack serverless CRUD apps when paired with a backend like Bunny Database Post-cache execution stays the default, so you keep compute out of the hot path when the cache is enough. Pre-cache is what you opt into for routes that need per-request control. You choose where your code runs. Find out more on the blog 🔗

What happens when the systems designed to stop malicious bots can no longer distinguish them from AI agents creating legitimate value? 👀 Historically, internet security operated under the assumption that all automated traffic was inherently dangerous. The rapid rise of AI agents is actively challenging that assumption. Today, automated systems play a critical role in helping users make decisions. As highlighted in bunny.net's recent Edge Security Report, our data shows that automated requests account for nearly 20 percent of web traffic, while AI crawlers generate more traffic than traditional search engine bots. Consequently, legacy security systems often restrict the very automated interactions that create value for your business. In a recent article for Journal du Net (JDN), our CEO, Dejan Grofelnik Pelzel, explores this shift and explains why distinguishing valuable automation from malicious activity is one of the biggest challenges in modern infrastructure. As AI continues to accelerate online interactions, you must optimize your infrastructure to accurately trust, prioritize, or mitigate requests at the edge. Not every attack announces itself with a massive traffic spike. Sometimes it's 50,000 login attempts from 50,000 different IPs. Individually, each request looks harmless. Together, they become a credential stuffing attack that can easily slip past traditional rate limits. 🛡️ In this clip from our Bunny Shield webinar, you’ll learn why modern attacks are often distributed across hundreds of thousands of IPs and how Bunny Shield detects them using global telemetry instead of looking at requests in isolation. This is just one of the insights from the session. The full webinar dives deeper into real attack patterns, the telemetry behind them, and includes a live demo of Bunny Shield stopping threats in real time. Hosted by Armin Talić and Lamar Waterman.
