College football Week 6 scores: Miami tops Florida State; Penn State and Texas suffer upset losses
Week 6 didn't look great on paper, but it delivered.
The day got off to a solid start as No. 14 Iowa State fell on the road to Cincinnati, though that can't be called an upset since the Bearcats were actually favored to win.
Things got more dramatic from there as top-10 teams struggled against unranked teams.
No. 7 Penn State suffered the biggest upset of the year, falling on the road at UCLA in a stunner. Then, moments later, Florida knocked off No. 9 Texas in an SEC thriller. Also in the SEC: No. 10 Alabama flexed some muscle and silenced Diego Pavia in a 30-14 win over No. 16 Vanderbilt.
In the nightcap, No. 3 Miami looked like a contender in dispatching No. 18 Florida State. And No. 6 Texas A&M took care of business at home against Mississippi State with a dominant defensive performance.
Here are the winners and losers from Week 6 of the college football season.
